(CPV) - Vietnam condemns the attack on the Iranian Embassy in Syria. Diplomatic and consular missions must be respected and protected in accordance with international law.

On April 6, 2024, in response to a reporter's question asking about Vietnam's response to the attack on the Iranian Embassy building in Syria, Spokesperson of the Vietnamese Ministry of Foreign Affairs Pham Thu Hang stated:

Vietnam condemns the attack on the Iranian Embassy in Syria. Diplomatic and consular premises must be respected and protected in accordance with international law.

Vietnam calls on relevant parties to exercise restraint, not use force, resolve disagreements by peaceful means, avoid escalating tensions in the region, comply with international law, including the 1961 Vienna Convention on Diplomatic Relations, and ensure the lives, security and safety of citizens, members of representative agencies and their families./ .
