On the afternoon of January 4, at the National Assembly House, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue received Vice Chairman of the Lao National Assembly Chaleun Yiapaoher.
National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue warmly welcomed Comrade Chaleun Yiapaoher - the first international guest to visit the Vietnamese National Assembly in the new year 2024.
Expressing his joy at the very good development of the relationship between the two Parties, the two States and the people of Vietnam and Laos, the National Assembly Chairman recalled the good impressions and successes of his visit and work in Laos in early December 2023 on the occasion of attending the first Cambodia-Laos-Vietnam (CLV) Summit hosted by the Lao National Assembly.
The National Assembly Chairman congratulated the Lao National Assembly for successfully hosting this important Conference - an event that marked the first time in history that the three countries had sufficient meeting mechanisms between the highest leaders on all three channels of the Party, National Assembly and Government . The success of the Conference marked the important role of the Lao National Assembly in the cooperation mechanism between the three CLV countries' National Assemblies and in the region.
During the visit, the leaders of the Lao Party, State, Government and National Assembly gave the Vietnamese National Assembly delegation a warm, respectful, thoughtful and fraternal welcome. The two countries' senior leaders had meetings and in-depth discussions on the situation in each country and cooperation between the two countries and the two National Assemblies.
Emphasizing that the cooperation agreement between the two countries' National Assemblies is being actively implemented, the National Assembly Chairman said that the Vietnamese National Assembly always does its best to make cooperation between the two legislative bodies an important part of bilateral cooperation, including in the field of legislation and deciding on important national issues.
Vice President of the Lao National Assembly Chaleun Yiapaoher sincerely thanked National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue for taking the time to meet him, as well as for his positive evaluation of the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos, and of Laos's organization of the recent CLV Conference. He also expressed his joy and appreciation for the fact that in the series of high-level events, the parties discussed and agreed on many important contents to promote cooperation. He believed that the overall success of the CLV Conference was due to the great, valuable and always close support of the Vietnamese National Assembly.
Informing that the purpose of the delegation's visit to Vietnam this time is to learn and share experiences to compile a book on the history of the Lao National Assembly's 50 years of establishment, growth and development, comrade Chaleun Yiapaoher announced that he had a successful meeting with Vice Chairman of the National Assembly Nguyen Khac Dinh, worked with Secretary General of the National Assembly, Head of the National Assembly Office Bui Van Cuong, and the Institute of Legislative Studies to specifically exchange good experiences in compiling the book as well as in building and perfecting the legal system. Especially when Laos is researching and preparing to amend the Constitution...
The National Assembly Chairman agreed with the opinions of the Vice Chairman of the Lao National Assembly and said that this was a common concern of the two National Assemblies. He highly appreciated the Lao National Assembly for its valuable experience in the field of law-making, promptly promulgating two national programs on macroeconomics and drug prevention and control, achieving many positive results; amending and supplementing many important law projects. Thereby contributing to the construction and development of Laos.
The National Assembly Chairman affirmed that the Vietnamese National Assembly and its agencies are ready to cooperate and share experiences with the Lao National Assembly in building and perfecting the Lao legal system in the best possible way. The two sides need to organize in-depth seminars to have scientific arguments in building policies and laws.
The National Assembly Chairman also shared about the compilation of the history book of 80 Vietnamese National Assemblies in a series of activities to celebrate the 80th anniversary of the first general election to elect the Vietnamese National Assembly (January 6, 1946 - January 6, 2026); at the same time, he expressed his support and appreciation for the idea of building a book on the history of relations between the Lao and Vietnamese National Assemblies by the Vice Chairman of the Lao National Assembly.
On this occasion, the National Assembly Chairman said that Vietnam always supports and is ready to assist Laos in successfully assuming the role of ASEAN Chair and AIPA Chair in 2024.
At the meeting, the Vice President of the Lao National Assembly conveyed the greetings of Lao National Assembly Chairman Saysomphone Phomvihane to National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue and the leaders of the Vietnamese National Assembly. Through Comrade Chaleun Yiapaoher, National Assembly Chairman Vuong Dinh Hue sent his greetings to Lao National Assembly Chairman Saysomphone Phomvihane and the leaders of the Lao National Assembly.
On the occasion of the New Year 2024, the upcoming Lunar New Year of Giap Thin, Comrade Chaleun Yiapaoher wished the country and people of Vietnam to achieve more achievements in the cause of national construction and development; wishing the great friendship, special solidarity and comprehensive cooperation between Vietnam and Laos to be forever green and sustainable.
