The attraction of Japan's "Golden Week"
Golden Week (April 29 to May 6) is one of the longest holidays of the year in Japan, and has special significance for Vietnam when participating in EXPO 2025 Osaka. On this occasion, people will spend time sightseeing, entertaining, and exploring the cultures of other countries.
EXPO 2025 Osaka is an attractive destination, attracting a large number of domestic and international visitors. Therefore, Vietnam is promoting its presence, spreading cultural values, promoting tourism and expanding global partnership connections.

During this Golden Week, cultural and tourism promotion activities between Vietnam and the world through art performances, digital interactive experiences, and public exchanges will take place continuously. Vietnam Exhibition House has the opportunity to reach international visitors to EXPO, thereby contributing to enhancing national brand recognition and positioning Vietnam as an attractive destination.

Participating in the EXPO 2025 World Exhibition on the artificial island of Yumeshima, Osaka, Japan, the Vietnam Exhibition Hall officially opened to welcome visitors from April 24. Aiming at the general theme of EXPO 2025 Osaka, "Designing the future society for our lives", the Vietnam Exhibition Hall chose the theme "Inclusive society with people at the center".
The 300m² exhibition space is designed with inspiration from the image of the traditional conical hat, harmoniously combining modern technology to become a prominent stopover with a strong East Asian cultural imprint. Here, art programs such as lotus dance, water puppetry, zither, monochord, t'rung concerts... have created a lively and impressive traditional Vietnamese cultural space.
The highlight of the art program is the performance “Beauty of Vietnam” on the main stage Inner with the combination of traditional music and modern lighting effects, familiar images such as conical hats, ao dai, traditional musical instruments… are vividly recreated, fully conveying the spirit of Vietnam.
Virtual exhibition expands digital cultural space
For the first time at an EXPO, Vietnam has deployed a virtual exhibition house model parallel to the real space. On the “Virtual EXPO-Yumeshima in the sky” platform, global users can access, choose avatars wearing ao dai and conical hats, “walk” through the exhibition areas and interact with videos and cultural products in Vietnamese and English.
Inside the actual exhibition hall, visitors can experience cultural content through interactive multimedia technology, from touch screens, augmented reality (AR), virtual reality (VR), hologram projections and digital maps. These experiences not only help spread cultural values but also bring viewers to “live with” heritage through screen touches or effects simulating landscapes, festivals and traditional craft villages of Vietnam.

According to Ms. Nguyen Phuong Hoa, Director of the Department of International Cooperation (Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism), General Representative of Vietnam at EXPO 2025, the Vietnam Exhibition House will be an impressive touch point in the hearts of visitors, a bridge of cooperation between Vietnam and international friends, a place to tell new stories about Vietnam, which is developing strongly and full of potential.
Connecting culture-tourism-technology
Not only promoting heritage and art, at the global forum EXPO 2025, Vietnam officially announced the “National Tourism Year 2025” with the theme “Hue - Ancient Capital, New Opportunities”. This is the first time the country’s largest tourism event has been officially introduced at an international forum, demonstrating the connection between culture-tourism-technology in foreign promotion activities.
In addition to performances and exhibition spaces, many Vietnamese creative businesses and cultural units have found new cooperation opportunities in areas such as cultural industry, design, training and smart tourism with Japanese partners. Through EXPO 2025, Vietnam will not only introduce cultural products but also create attraction for new tourism products: Heritage tourism, digital tourism and experiential tourism.

Within the framework of the exhibition, Vietnam will participate in Value Week (May 26 to June 1) and Vietnam National Day (September 9).
These are important milestones for Vietnam to continue promoting its culture, boosting diplomacy and attracting investment and tourism. Through a series of diverse activities, Vietnam is showing a dynamic, integrated, creative image and using technology as a foundation to spread national cultural values.
