Established in 1995 as the Transport Marketing & Tourism Company, with only 7 employees and a modest charter capital, Vietravel has gradually developed and expanded its scale, affirming its position in the travel and tourism industry. In August 2010, Vietravel transformed into Vietnam Transport Marketing & Tourism One Member Co., Ltd. In early 2014, Vietravel switched to a joint stock company model. In 2019, Vietravel was officially listed on the HOSE (code VTR), marking an important development milestone.
Over the past 30 years, Vietravel has built a network of branches across the country and expanded internationally with representative offices in the US, France, Australia, Thailand, Singapore, etc. The company has also invested in many strategic projects to diversify its services. At the 2025 Annual General Meeting of Shareholders, the Board of Directors of Vietravel approved the decision to shorten the name to “Vietravel Tourism Joint Stock Company”. This name clearly reflects the core nature of tourism services, while simplifying the identification system and enhancing brand memorability, as well as preparing for a new, stronger development phase.

The name change has many important strategic implications with three main purposes: brand synchronization, international market expansion and affirming its position in the national economy . With the new name, Vietravel hopes to increase its global presence, build trust with international customers and continue to promote its pioneering role in the Vietnamese tourism industry.
“This innovation is not simply a name change but also affirms Vietravel’s long-term strategic vision and aspiration to reach out to the world. We believe that the new name will continue to help Vietravel strongly integrate into the international market. Our goal is to aim for a position in the Top 100 leading enterprises of the Vietnamese economy,” said Mr. Nguyen Quoc Ky, Chairman of Vietravel’s Board of Directors.
