Vingroup Corporation has just launched the first humanoid robot prototype under the VinMotion brand, marking an important turning point in the strategy of conquering the high-tech sector of Vietnamese enterprises.

VinMotion - Vietnamese technological advancement

Established in January 2025 with a charter capital of VND 1,000 billion, VinMotion Joint Stock Company is a unit under the Vingroup ecosystem, tasked with researching, developing and commercializing humanoid robots - a field considered one of the fiercest technology races of the 21st century.

After just over 3 months of establishment, VinMotion's Vietnamese engineering team has created the first robot prototype. This robot is capable of performing basic operations such as walking, waving and interacting with gestures, demonstrating great potential for application in production lines, services and life.

VinMotion said that in the first phase, robots will be deployed in manufacturing plants of VinFast - a global electric vehicle brand of Vingroup, to support the transportation of components, quality control and repetitive operations on the assembly line.

In the medium and long term, the company aims to develop intelligent robots capable of communication, image and language processing, and applications in the fields of logistics, healthcare, education , customer service and even personal care at home.

Trillion-dollar market and Vietnam's position

According to a report from Citibank, the global robot market, especially the humanoid robot segment, could reach a size of up to 7,000 billion USD by 2050, with more than 600 million devices deployed worldwide.

The participation of a Vietnamese enterprise like Vingroup in this global technology race is not only a bold step, but also affirms the ambition of the "Make in Vietnam" high-tech industry to reach international standards.

Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong - recognized by Forbes as the first billionaire in Vietnam with assets exceeding 9 billion USD - said: " VinMotion is a testament to the Vietnamese people's ability to master high technology. We want to affirm that Vietnam is not only a place to consume technology, but can also create technology."
