Permanent Vice President of Vietnam Tourism Association Cao Thi Ngoc Lan said that Vietnam International Tourism Fair - VITM Hanoi 2023 has the participation of over 600 businesses from 15 countries and territories and 51 provinces and cities of Vietnam. The fair has a scale of 452 booths. In 4 days, the fair attracted more than 3,000 Vietnamese and international tourism businesses to work at the fair. There were over 10,000 tours & promotional tourism products sold at the fair. It is estimated that over 60,000 visitors came to visit and buy tourism products at the fair.
At the VITM Hanoi Fair 2023, 20 tourism promotion events, conferences and seminars were organized by tourism promotion agencies and tourism businesses. The fair created a vibrant atmosphere for exchanges and discussions between domestic and international tourism businesses, contributing significantly to the recovery of the international tourism market and continuing to promote domestic tourism activities.
According to the survey, after 4 days of operation, the Fair has achieved positive results. The satisfaction assessment of the participating units of the Fair is: 25% very satisfied, 72.5% satisfied, and 0.3% dissatisfied; regarding the level of meeting the objectives of enterprises participating in the Fair, there are: 9% evaluated the Fair as exceeding expectations, 88% met the objectives and 2% did not meet them. 91% of enterprises and tourism promotion organizations determined that they will continue to participate in VITM 2024.
At the Fair, the Forum “Developing Vietnam Cultural Tourism” attracted the direct participation of over 200 businesses and thousands of businesses participating online. Opinions focused on discussing and proposing solutions to promote cultural tourism activities, making tourism a spearhead in the development of the cultural industry, contributing positively to the work of preserving and promoting the values of both traditional and modern culture of Vietnam.
The seminar "Reducing plastic waste in the tourism sector" has attracted the attention of tourism organizations and businesses nationwide when the Vietnam Tourism Association, with the support of the United Nations Development Program (UNDP) in Vietnam, is implementing the Project "Reducing plastic waste in the tourism sector of Vietnam" with the aim of: building a model to reduce plastic waste in tourism businesses nationwide, conducting propaganda to raise awareness of people and tourists about reducing plastic waste in tourism activities to change consumption habits and move towards eliminating single-use plastic products, identifying the viewpoint that tourism development must always be associated with environmental protection, considering environmental quality as an important factor in tourism development.
At the closing ceremony, the Vietnam Tourism Association presented commemorative medals to 10 units with the largest booths, 9 units with the most impressive booth designs, and 12 booths with unique activities that attracted visitors.
