On the morning of May 28, Vietnam time, about 30 minutes after being launched, SpaceX's Starship rocket fell into a state of spinning in space and lost control.

According to information released via live television from SpaceX's launch center, a fuel leak appeared in the upper stage of Starship, causing the rocket to lose control of its flight direction and fall into a state of spinning in space.

According to SpaceX, because the control center could not maintain a stable flight path for the rocket, it is likely that the upper stage will burn up before falling into the Indian Ocean.

Previously, on the evening of May 27 local time, SpaceX Space Exploration Technology Corporation tested the Starship rocket.

This is the ninth test launch of the Starship rocket as SpaceX sets ambitious space exploration goals and must ensure that Starship rockets can be launched safely to serve future manned flights.

Starship's most recent launch was on March 6 during its eighth test flight, SpaceX lost contact with the spacecraft shortly after takeoff.

The launch took place at around 6:36 p.m. on May 27 local time, or around 6:36 a.m. on May 28 Vietnam time, at SpaceX's satellite launch facility called Starbase in Texas, South Central America.

The goal this time is to perform a full test flight and release a series of satellites to simulate the Starlink Internet satellites developed by SpaceX.

SpaceX's Starship spacecraft and Super Heavy rocket, collectively known as Starship, are fully reusable transportation systems designed to carry both crew and cargo to Earth orbit, the Moon, Mars and beyond.

At around 123m tall, Starship is known as the world's largest and most powerful rocket. The rocket is designed to be fully reusable and plays an important role in billionaire Musk's plan to send humans to Mars.

Starship plays an important role for the National Aeronautics and Space Administration (NASA).

This is the vehicle NASA has chosen to take astronauts on the final leg of their journey to the Moon during the Artemis III mission, scheduled for 2026.
