After many days of searching in the dense jungle, Colombian rescue forces found victims aged 13, 9, 4 years old and an 11-month-old baby who miraculously survived the plane crash on May 1.

More than 100 rescuers, 3 helicopters and many search dogs searched for days in the dense forest to find the missing children.

Four children believed to be missing in a plane crash have been found miraculously alive after eating wild berries along the way after 17 days wandering in the Colombian Amazon.

Colombian rescue forces said on May 17 that they found the young victims by following traces such as crushed wild berries, and items such as hair ties, shoes, clothes, milk bottles, etc. left along the road.

More than 100 rescuers, three helicopters and many sniffer dogs searched for days in the dense forest and found a temporary shelter made of tree branches, thereby further confirming the hypothesis that there was at least one survivor.

The force participating in “Operation Hope” carried a loudspeaker capable of broadcasting sounds within a range of 1,500 meters along with a message recorded by the children’s grandmother in the native Huitoto language to prevent the children from continuing to cross the forest and waiting for adults to rescue them.

The area where the children, aged 13, 9, 4 and an 11-month-old baby, went missing is difficult to reach by river and has no highway.

Previously, the plane crash on May 1 killed 3 people, including the pilot and the mother of the 4 children mentioned above.

The Cessna 206 was found upside down at the scene and experts speculate that the crew may have tried to land on the giant trees in an emergency. Initial investigation results show that the plane crashed due to engine failure.

So far, authorities have not provided further details about the search process or the health status of these children after their terrible adventure in the forest full of wild animals.

According to the Indigenous Organization of Colombia (ONIC), the Huitoto people live in harmony with the harsh conditions of the Amazon rainforest and preserve traditions such as hunting, fishing and gathering wild fruits./.
