Despite the rain from early morning, about 4,000 students from many universities in Ho Chi Minh City braved the rain to come to learn about, submit applications, and interview for job positions from businesses. Many students found jobs right at the program.
Nguyen Minh Dung, a senior engineering student at a university in Ho Chi Minh City, said that it was raining heavily this morning. At first, Dung planned to stay home and play games, skipping his plans with friends to go... submit a job application.
It is known that the rain on the morning of May 10 in Ho Chi Minh City lasted for an hour and a half with a measured amount of water of nearly 230 mm - the largest since 2018.
However, after that, the male student decided to get up, change his clothes and leave the room. Dung went from Ho Van Tu Street, Thu Duc City, which was flooded with ice, with some sections of water reaching up to half a wheel. Many cars stalled on the side of the road, but his car was lucky to escape.
Minh Dung researched, applied at many booths and found a job as a technician at an auto repair company with a starting salary of 12 million VND/month.
Dung had his first interview on the spot, submitted his application for a second interview next week and was able to start working immediately even though he had not officially graduated.
Associate Professor Dr. Chau Dinh Thanh, Vice Principal of Ho Chi Minh City University of Technical Education, said the program provides more than 1,500 job and internship opportunities for students, especially final year students and recent graduates.
There were more than 330 domestic and international recruitment positions introduced, attracting more than 1,300 job applications, many of which students found job opportunities right at the program.
In addition, students are also given career orientation and practical skills development, and receive advice from human resource experts on how to write CVs, job applications, answer interviews, hone skills, experience the labor market, and prepare for their careers early.
