Since October 4, the Commune Party Committee has issued a document requesting agencies, units, affiliated Party cells and villages to clearly understand the dangerous nature of storm No. 11 in order to have response plans and solutions.

The Commune Party Committee directed the Commune Disaster Prevention and Control and Search and Rescue Command to assign forces to be on duty 24/24 hours, and prepare vehicles, materials, and human resources to handle emergency situations. For works and items damaged by storm No. 10 that have not been repaired, the Commune People's Committee coordinated with villages, hamlets, and construction management units to review, temporarily reinforce, and put up warning signs to prevent further damage when storm No. 11 makes landfall.

“The Party Committee also directed the villages to develop a schedule for duty at the cultural house, assign specific tasks to each force; review areas at risk of landslides, flash floods, and inundation; propagate and guide people to temporarily evacuate to safe places when required. Schools, agencies, and units proactively reinforce houses and structures, ensure the safety of property, records, and equipment, and absolutely avoid subjective damage,” said Mr. La Tien Thuat, Secretary of the Khanh Yen Commune Party Committee.
The Commune Steering Committee for Natural Disaster Prevention, Control and Search and Rescue has directed the temporary gathering of machinery and equipment to help overcome the consequences of storm No. 10 in a safe place, and has prepared enough fuel to be ready to respond when a natural disaster occurs. Forces, vehicles and equipment are also deployed in key and vulnerable areas according to the "4 on-site" motto to promptly rescue and save people. The commune is determined to evacuate households in areas at risk of landslides and along streams; those who do not comply with the evacuation will be forced.

Khanh Yen commune has a large, complex terrain, high hills, steep slopes, a dense stream and stream system, and is often affected by natural disasters, especially flash floods and landslides. Recently, the commune was continuously affected by storms No. 9 and No. 10. Although many prevention and control measures have been implemented, heavy damage has still been recorded, especially in agriculture and infrastructure, with a total estimated loss of nearly 17 billion VND.
