Thuong Lam commune meets advanced new rural standards

- On the afternoon of May 28, Lam Binh District People's Committee held a ceremony to announce Thuong Lam commune meeting advanced new rural standards. Attending were comrade Nguyen The Giang, member of the Provincial Party Committee, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of provincial departments and branches.

To implement the construction of advanced new rural areas, Thuong Lam commune has mobilized resources to build new rural areas of over 43 billion VND, of which the State budget capital supported by the National Target Program on New Rural Construction, from programs and projects is over 36 billion VND; the people contributed over 7 billion VND.

After 3 years (2021-2023), with the attention, direction and support of all levels and sectors, along with the proactive and drastic participation of Party committees, authorities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front, socio -political organizations and people of all ethnic groups in the whole commune, up to now, Thuong Lam commune has achieved 19/19 criteria according to the regulations of the National Criteria Set on advanced new rural construction.

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen The Giang presented the decision of the Provincial People's Committee on the commune meeting the advanced NTM standards to Thuong Lam commune.

Rural infrastructure such as transportation, irrigation, schools, electricity, medical stations, communal cultural houses, and village cultural houses have been invested in, creating a new look, contributing significantly to promoting the socio -economic development of the commune. The average income per capita in the whole commune reached 51.3 million VND/person/year, an increase of nearly 32 million VND compared to 2015; the multidimensional poverty rate decreased from 60% in 2021 to 7.46%...

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen The Giang praised the results that the Party Committee, government and people of Thuong Lam commune have achieved in the process of building an advanced new rural commune. He hoped that the locality would continue to promote the achievements, step up propaganda and mobilize people to raise public awareness in preserving and improving the quality of criteria in the direction of ensuring quality and sustainability, always identifying that building a new rural area is a regular and continuous task, "having only a starting point and no ending point".

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen The Giang visited the display introducing typical products of Thuong Lam commune.

He suggested that the commune continue to shift the crop structure towards concentrated commodity production in line with local strengths and advantages and market demand; link the development of homestay tourism with rural, service, agricultural and aquatic industries; continue to mobilize resources to modernize facilities and equipment for teaching and learning; replicate the model of smart classrooms and high-quality classrooms; focus on building a safe, healthy and friendly educational environment.

The Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee also suggested that the locality needs to innovate and improve the leadership and direction capacity of the Party Committee, the government, the activities of the Fatherland Front and socio-political organizations, to meet the requirements of the two-level local government "streamlined - compact - strong - effective - efficient - effective", to serve the people better and better, to build the new Thuong Lam commune to be increasingly rich, beautiful and civilized...

Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee Nguyen The Giang awarded Certificates of Merit from the Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee to individuals with outstanding achievements in building advanced new rural areas of Thuong Lam commune.

On this occasion, the Provincial People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 2 collectives and 4 individuals with outstanding achievements in new rural construction; the District People's Committee awarded Certificates of Merit to 4 collectives and 7 individuals with achievements in implementing the new rural construction movement of the commune.

Previously, the Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee inspected the facilities of Thuong Lam Primary School, Thuong Lam Commune.
