Mr. Le Minh Chien said that as of the end of November 2, there were more than 50 landslides on roads and residential areas in the commune. On National Highway 40B, the road management unit has brought in mechanical vehicles to scoop and temporarily level the road to clear the road.
However, the heavy rain continued to combine with the weak soil, causing the landslides to continue to collapse after being scooped and leveled. National Highway 40B will be leveled and cleared under favorable weather conditions and light rain.
Previously, as reported, National Highway 24C through Tra Tan commune was broken and a section of Ca Da bridge was washed away. Currently, the authorities have temporarily repaired it to allow vehicles and people to travel.
As for landslides on commune roads and in residential areas, they cannot be repaired yet because they are cut off and vehicles cannot access them. In addition, heavy rain continues, making safety uncertain due to the risk of further landslides.
According to the leaders of Tra Tan commune, as of November 1, 64 houses in the commune were affected by landslides and floods; of which 17 houses were completely buried and swept away.
