Verifying the case of a private kindergarten owner using a comb to beat a child

On June 25, Mr. Dao Duy Gioi, Chairman of the People's Committee of Tran Nguyen Han Ward, Le Chan District (Hai Phong City), said that the authorities are verifying and clarifying the content of a video clip posted on social networks, accusing Ms. NTL, owner of the private kindergarten HM (on Ton Duc Thang Street, Tran Nguyen Han Ward, Le Chan District), of using a hairbrush to hit a child's feet.

Initially, the authorities determined that the video clip was recorded by a teacher taking care of children at Ms. L's facility. The clip captured the scene of a boy named TGH (currently 5 years old), being beaten by Ms. L. in the teacher's lunch area at the end of 2022.

H. was punished for not taking a nap and for being naughty, disturbing the sleep of her classmates. The comb used to beat the child was a plastic hairbrush, more than 20 cm long.

The incident has been going on for many months now, and H.'s parents have not reported anything to the authorities. However, the People's Committee of Tran Nguyen Han Ward is clarifying the purpose of sharing this video clip online, as well as the act of using a comb to hit the child's feet, even though that act did not have any consequences for H.

Working with the authorities, Ms. L. also admitted that using a comb to hit H.'s feet was intended to deter him, not with any malicious intent.

The incident is currently being clarified by the authorities of Tran Nguyen Han Ward and Le Chan District.
