Building a clean and strong Quang Tri Party in terms of politics, ideology and ethics

Uphold Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh thought

Implementing President Ho Chi Minh's advice, in recent times, the Executive Committee of the Quang Tri Provincial Party Committee has synchronously deployed solutions to build a clean and strong Party Committee in terms of politics , ideology and ethics. Accordingly, the Provincial Party Committee regularly conducts political and ideological work in many forms, including promoting political theory education, aiming to educate cadres and Party members to be steadfast in Marxism-Leninism and Ho Chi Minh's thought.

In particular, on September 9, 1999, the Provincial Party Committee issued Action Program No. 09 to implement Resolution of the 6th Central Committee (2nd session) of the 8th tenure on some urgent issues in Party building at present with 5 main tasks and solutions on ideological work, including strengtheningeducation on Marxism-Leninism, Ho Chi Minh thought, the Party's viewpoints and guidelines, and the State's laws for cadres and Party members. The Provincial Party Committee's Standing Committee organized a collective and individual review session, creating a democratic, frank, and sincere atmosphere to build a clean and strong Party organization.

The 13th Provincial Party Congress, term 2000-2005, continued to identify political and ideological work in the new period as an important task of Party building. Accordingly, the Provincial Party Committee issued Directive No. 10 on continuing to implement Resolution of the 6th Central Committee (2nd term) of the 8th tenure to promote Party building and rectification, prevent and repel corruption and waste. The work of fighting against the plot of "peaceful evolution" in the field of ideology and culture was given importance.

The 14th Provincial Party Congress, term 2005-2010, continued to identify the work of "Party building as a key task", focusing on building a strong Party organization in all three aspects of politics, ideology and organization, constantly improving the leadership capacity of the Party organization, the fighting strength of Party members, creating a strong change in awareness, ideology and politics for cadres and Party members.

The ideological work of the province during this period was closely linked to the Campaign "Studying and following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh". Accordingly, the Provincial Party Committee organized the launch and issued a plan to implement the campaign to the grassroots, all levels and sectors in many forms such as: storytelling contests about Uncle Ho's moral example; meetings and exchanges with typical examples of following the moral example of Ho Chi Minh; organizing for cadres, civil servants, party members, association members, and union members to write reports, relate to themselves, and propose directions to strive in practicing thrift, fighting against embezzlement, waste, bureaucracy, and indifference in work and life.

Party committees at all levels carried out activities to celebrate the 40th anniversary of the implementation of President Ho Chi Minh's Testament and organized conferences to commend typical examples of "Studying and following Ho Chi Minh's moral example", creating a widespread emulation movement in each locality and unit.

The Provincial Party Committee, term XV, 2010-2015, has also comprehensively implemented all aspects of Party building work. The study and dissemination of resolutions, directives and conclusions of the Party Central Committee and the Provincial Party Committee have become increasingly systematic, seriously organized and implemented by Party committees, becoming extensive political activities, with 100% of grassroots Party organizations, over 95% of cadres and Party members in the entire Party Committee and thousands of people participating. Political theory education for cadres and Party members continues to be promoted.

In the 2015-2020 term, the 16th Provincial Party Committee continued to strengthen the Party building work in terms of politics and ideology. Accordingly, the Provincial Party Committee issued the Project "Improving the quality of studying political theory, researching and thoroughly grasping the Party's directives and resolutions among cadres and Party members" with many new solutions widely deployed throughout the Party Committee.

The work of grasping the ideological situation has been focused on by Party committees at all levels, promptly handling outstanding issues, contributing to stabilizing ideological security, and at the same time effectively implementing Resolution No. 35 dated October 22, 2018 of the Politburo on strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation and fighting against erroneous and hostile views in the new situation.

Promoting Party building work on ethics

The 12th National Party Congress determined that Party building in terms of ethics is an important and specific task, carried out simultaneously with Party building in terms of politics and ideology. Implementing the central government's policy, the provincial Party Committee has emphasized Party building in terms of ethics.

The implementation of Directive 05 dated May 15, 2016 of the Politburo on promoting the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle is carried out synchronously in conjunction with Resolution of the 12th Central Committee, Session 4, on strengthening Party building and rectification, and Party regulations on the exemplary responsibility of cadres and party members, following the motto that the higher the position, the more exemplary the role. Party committees at all levels proactively link the study and following of Ho Chi Minh's ideology, morality and lifestyle with the implementation of political tasks of each cadre and party member through annual themes and topics, and commitments to the responsibilities of cadres and party members.

Along with that, the organization well implemented the forum "The role of Party cells in educating and managing cadres and Party members to prevent and repel the degradation of political ideology, ethics, lifestyle, manifestations of "self-evolution" and "self-transformation" within the Party", contributing to helping Party members "self-examine and self-correct", raise awareness of self-criticism and criticism, propose solutions to overcome shortcomings, limit and prevent violations.

In the 2020-2025 term, the 17th Provincial Party Committee continues to identify the task of improving the effectiveness of Party building work in terms of politics, ideology and ethics. To achieve the set goals, the Party Committee from the province to the grassroots level focuses on promoting political and ideological education to raise awareness, consolidate and strengthen ideological and political unity within the Party Committee, and consensus among the people.

At the same time, proactively grasp and accurately forecast the ideological situation, public opinion and social mood, promptly process information and orient ideology and public opinion in conjunction with effectively resolving pressing issues of the people as well as strengthening the protection of the Party's ideological foundation, fighting against wrong views, bad and toxic information of hostile and reactionary forces on the ideological front, especially on the internet and social networks, and strictly handling violations.
