Over the years, the Thuan Chau District Party Committee has focused on leading and directing the development of a team of ethnic minority cadres to meet the requirements of their tasks, contributing to promoting socio-economic development and maintaining political security and social order in the area.

The Party Committee of Co Ma commune, Thuan Chau district, held a meeting to implement tasks.

Comrade Thào A Súa, Permanent Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, said: In implementing the Party and State's policies on ethnic affairs, the District Party Committee's Standing Committee has organized conferences for key officials throughout the district to disseminate and implement these policies; and developed a plan for training cadres and civil servants, especially those from ethnic minority groups. Since the beginning of the term, the district has sent 1 official for university-level professional training; 9 officials for postgraduate professional training; 15 for advanced theoretical training; and 391 for basic and intermediate-level theoretical training.

Furthermore, the district has effectively implemented the Party and State's policies on attracting, recruiting, and utilizing ethnic minority cadres. From 2020 to the present, the district has recruited 4 civil servants, 27 district-level officials, and 10 commune-level civil servants from ethnic minority groups. In addition, the work of assigning, arranging, transferring, rotating, and appointing cadres has been directed by the District Party Committee Standing Committee to be carried out democratically, transparently, and in accordance with regulations. Most of the cadres promoted and appointed meet the requirements of their assigned tasks.

Co Ma commune has 22 officials and civil servants, 100% of whom are ethnic minorities. Every year, these officials and civil servants are sent to participate in professional and specialized training courses at the district and provincial levels. After training and professional development, the working style of the officials and civil servants has significantly improved, and their work efficiency has increased. Many issues related to land, environment, and security and order arising in the area have been resolved promptly at the grassroots level. Currently, 16 out of 22 commune officials and civil servants have received intermediate-level political theory training; 19 out of 22 have university degrees.

Mr. Vi A Dinh, a cultural and social affairs official in Co Ma commune, shared: "I graduated from a university with a degree in culture, and then I was sent to attend an intermediate-level political theory course. The knowledge I gained helped me perform my professional duties well, advising on and resolving administrative tasks and procedures within my area of responsibility."

From 2020 to the present, the district has appointed and nominated 46 ethnic minority officials to leadership and management positions at the district level. It has also appointed and nominated 405 officials and leaders at the commune level. Furthermore, 41 ethnic minority officials have been rotated to leadership and management positions. Currently, 60% of ethnic minority officials are working in district-level agencies, with 28% holding leadership and management positions; nearly 35% of ethnic minority officials have university degrees, and 33% have intermediate-level political theory qualifications. At the commune level, 92% of officials and civil servants are ethnic minorities; of these, nearly 80% have university degrees, and 78% have intermediate-level political theory qualifications.

In the next step, Thuan Chau district will focus on implementing a comprehensive set of solutions to improve the quality of ethnic minority cadres, civil servants, and public employees, contributing to enhancing the effectiveness of leadership, management, and task execution in agencies, units, and localities, strengthening national unity, and leveraging strength in achieving socio -economic development targets and tasks of the locality.
