Over the past years, Thuan Chau District Party Committee has paid attention to leading and directing the building of a team of ethnic minority cadres to meet the requirements of the task, contributing to promoting socio-economic development, maintaining political security and social order in the area.

Comrade Thao A Sua, Standing Deputy Secretary of the District Party Committee, said: Implementing the Party and State's policies on ethnic affairs, the District Party Committee's Standing Committee has organized conferences for key officials in the whole district to disseminate and implement; develop plans for training officials and civil servants, especially training officials from ethnic minorities. Since the beginning of the term, the district has sent 1 official for university training; 9 officials for postgraduate training, 15 people for advanced theoretical training; 391 people for elementary and intermediate theoretical training.
In addition, the district has well implemented the Party and State's policies on attracting, recruiting and using ethnic minority cadres. From 2020 to present, the district has recruited 4 civil servants, 27 district officials and 10 commune civil servants who are ethnic minorities. In addition, the work of arranging, assigning, transferring, rotating and appointing cadres has been directed by the Standing Committee of the District Party Committee to be implemented democratically, publicly and in accordance with regulations. Most of the promoted and appointed cadres meet the requirements of the assigned tasks.
Co Ma commune has 22 cadres and civil servants, 100% of whom are ethnic minorities. Every year, cadres and civil servants are sent to participate in professional training, technical training and in-depth training in the district and province. After training and fostering, the working style of cadres and civil servants has clearly changed, and work is handled more effectively. Many cases related to land, environment, security and order arising in the area are promptly resolved right at the grassroots level. Currently, 16/22 cadres and civil servants of the commune have been trained in intermediate political theory; 19/22 cadres and civil servants have university degrees.
Mr. Vi A Dinh, a cultural and social officer of Co Ma commune, shared: I graduated from a university of culture, then was sent to attend an intermediate political theory class. The knowledge I learned helps me perform my professional duties well, advising on solving administrative tasks and procedures in my field of responsibility.
From 2020 to present, the district has appointed and introduced 46 ethnic minority cadres to hold leadership and management positions at the district level. Appointed and introduced 405 commune-level cadres, leaders and managers to hold leadership and management positions. Rotated 41 ethnic minority cadres to hold leadership and management positions. Currently, 60% of ethnic minority cadres are working in district-level agencies, of which 28% are leaders and managers of agencies and units; nearly 35% of ethnic minority cadres have university degrees, 33% have intermediate theoretical qualifications. At the commune level, 92% of cadres and civil servants are ethnic minorities; of which, nearly 80% of cadres and civil servants have university degrees; 78% have intermediate theoretical qualifications.
In the next step, Thuan Chau district focuses on synchronously implementing solutions to improve the quality of cadres, civil servants and public employees who are ethnic minorities, contributing to improving the effectiveness of leadership, management and task implementation in agencies, units and localities, strengthening the great national unity bloc, promoting strength in implementing local socio-economic development targets and tasks.
