Building a Union team to meet new requirements

On November 7, the People's Public Security Trade Union (CAND) organized the opening of a training course to foster, update knowledge, and improve qualifications and skills for key Trade Union officials in 2024, in the Southern region.

Attending were Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor and nearly 300 key union officials in the Southern region of the People's Public Security.

Speaking at the opening of the training course, Lieutenant Colonel Cong Thanh Thao informed that currently, the People's Public Security Trade Union has more than 550 grassroots trade unions belonging to 24 grassroots trade unions, with nearly 25,000 union members. The training course was organized to effectively implement one of the three breakthroughs of the Resolution of the 13th Congress of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor; Resolution of the 6th Congress of the People's Public Security Trade Union in building a team of trade union officials to meet the requirements of tasks in the new situation, especially the team of grassroots trade union chairmen.

Through the training program, the knowledge, professional skills and practical working capacity of Trade Union officials will be improved in the following contents: Trade Union work; effective management and organization methods in caring for and protecting the interests of union members; Trade Union financial work... Especially updating new knowledge on integration issues of Trade Union organizations in the new context.

At the training course, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, on behalf of the leadership of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, highly appreciated the organization of the training course of the People's Public Security Trade Union, which took place over many days with rich and comprehensive contents, transforming the orientation of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor in improving the quality of the trade union staff, especially the grassroots trade union staff. The number of trainees present was sufficient compared to the call, demonstrating the need for training and knowledge improvement, as well as the spirit of high discipline of the trade union staff in the People's Public Security.

"Hopefully, the training program will be an activity to contribute to improving the level of Trade Union officials in the People's Public Security; the students' concentration in participating in the training and contributing their opinions will help the training class to be a great success," said Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu.

According to the plan, Mr. Ngo Duy Hieu, Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, will present two topics: the thinking, vision and skills of union officials in the new context and the skills to direct the implementation of the task of representing, caring for and protecting the rights of union members and workers in the training program.

In addition to the training content, the Trade Union officials in the People's Public Security also had the opportunity to exchange experiences with the Vietnam Oil and Gas Trade Union; participate in the workshop on the role of emulation movements in building Trade Union organizations; Leadership thinking of Trade Union officials in the context of digital transformation...

The training program is expected to take place from November 7 to November 9, 2024.
