Students of Hop Dong Primary and Secondary School (Kim Boi) participated in the Festival to learn about, preserve and promote the cultural identity of the Muong ethnic group.

Recognizing the role of children in sustainable development, the province has implemented many practical programs to provide comprehensive care for children, especially those in special circumstances, difficult circumstances, and ethnic minority children. Every year, thousands of children in remote areas, ethnic minority areas are supported with scholarships, health insurance, social subsidies, gifts, school supplies, and screening and surgery for deformities.

For children, a safe living environment is not only to avoid accidents, injuries, and abuse, but also a place where they can study, play, entertain, and develop in love and suitable conditions. In the province, many playgrounds for children have been built in residential areas, creating a useful and healthy play space. At schools, a number of emulation movements and meaningful models such as "Building a friendly school, active students", a healthy pedagogical environment, free of violence, etc. contribute to raising awareness, life skills and promoting children's right to participate in issues related to themselves.

Child care activities bring practical results, contributing to improving the quality of life and building confidence for children, especially ethnic minority children and children in difficult circumstances. A typical case is the family of Bui Hai Anh and Bui Thi Phuong Thu, Muong ethnic group in Tham hamlet, Suoi Hoa commune (Tan Lac). The family is a poor household, living in an old stilt house that has seriously degraded after more than 20 years of use. In 2024, the Provincial Children's Support Fund mobilized to build a new house for the family with a total donation of 95 million VND. Local organizations and people contributed labor days to complete this meaningful project. In the new, spacious house, Bui Thi Phuong Thu shared: "My family is grateful for all the help to have a solid house. Every time it rains and storms, we no longer have to worry because we have a safe home."

Recently, the Center for Social Work and the Provincial Children's Support Fund presented 45 bicycles to 45 children in special and difficult circumstances in 3 mountainous communes: Ngoc Son, Ngoc Lau, Tu Do (Lac Son) on the occasion of International Children's Day June 1 and Action Month for Children 2025. Bui Tuyet Nhu, an 8B student at Ngoc Son Primary and Secondary School, is one of the Muong ethnic children who received gifts. She confided: "For me, the bicycle is very precious, from now on the way to school will be more convenient. I promise to study hard and practice to not let everyone down."

Meaningful activities to care for children are carried out regularly, attracting tens of thousands of children to participate such as: Giving gifts on the occasion of Lunar New Year, Mid-Autumn Festival, Action Month for Children... In addition, organizations such as the Youth Union, Women's Union... also actively promote and raise community awareness about child protection and care.

The Provincial Children's Support Fund is a public service unit under the Department of Health. Each year, the Fund mobilizes from 1.5 to 2 billion VND, supporting about 4,000 to 4,500 children in many practical forms such as: heart surgery, smile surgery, giving scholarships, building playgrounds, organizing programs for children... In 2024, the Fund mobilized more than 2.2 billion VND, supporting over 5,600 children.

The work of protecting, caring for andeducating children in the province has achieved remarkable results in recent times. More importantly, there has been a change in awareness and action of the whole society in joining hands to build a better living environment for future generations.
