On September 30, the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor (VGCL) coordinated with the People's Committee of Vinh Long province to organize the groundbreaking ceremony of the Trade Union Social Housing Project with a total investment of more than VND 554 billion, aiming to solve the housing needs of workers and low-income laborers.
Ms. Thai Thu Xuong, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, spoke at the ceremony.
The project is built on an area of over 3.2 hectares, including 4 blocks of 7-storey buildings and 2 blocks of parking lots. The special feature is that each apartment is fully equipped with basic furniture such as beds, wardrobes and kitchen cabinets, creating conditions for workers to be able to live in immediately upon receiving the house.
Ms. Thai Thu Xuong, Permanent Vice President of the Vietnam General Confederation of Labor, said that all investment capital comes from the Trade Union budget, in full compliance with the 2023 Housing Law and legal procedures.
When completed, the project will serve nearly 2,000 workers and be an important tool to attract workers to join the Trade Union, contributing to the implementation of the Government 's Project of 1 million social housing apartments.
Mr. Nguyen Truc Son, Vice Chairman of Vinh Long Provincial People's Committee, affirmed that the project has practical significance in stabilizing the labor force.
