Manyeducators believe that building school culture is an urgent need, contributing to cultivating students' personalities and at the same time improving the quality of education.
Mr. Thai Van Thanh, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Nghe An, acknowledged that in recent years, we have had to face many manifestations of deviations in ethics and lifestyle in society in general and in the school environment in particular. A group of students behave in an uncultured manner, affecting the spirit and good cultural and educational environment in schools.
Among students, there are cases of badmouthing others, swearing, school violence... Some students even send messages on Facebook insulting the honor and reputation of teachers and the school... The above incident has caused public outrage and concern about the lack of awareness and attitude of respecting teachers among a segment of students today.
Therefore, according to Mr. Thanh, in the context of educational innovation and the 4.0 revolution, building school culture in educational and training institutions is an urgent issue, especially when education and training are always considered the top national policy. School culture greatly affects the quality and effectiveness of the educational process in schools towards comprehensive human development.
Mr. Tran Van Thuc, Director of the Department of Education and Training of Thanh Hoa, said that building a school culture is a key factor in school development. A healthy and positive school culture will be a favorable factor to improve the overall quality of education, prevent deviant behaviors, and create motivation for both teachers and students.
To build school culture, Mr. Thuc said that schools must complete documents on regulations and rules at the best level, suitable for practical development. At the same time, promote propaganda, education, and raise awareness for managers, teachers, workers, students, and families about the necessity of building school culture in the current period.
Along with that, it is necessary to improve the capacity of cultural education for managers, teachers and other educational forces. On the other hand, it is necessary to develop capacity, perfect personality, healthy and friendly cultural lifestyle for officials, teachers, students to create a fundamental change in cultural behavior in schools. Thereby, contributing to improving the quality of education and training, towards a healthy, friendly, positive and sustainable pedagogical environment.
According to Mr. Thai Van Thanh, to build culture in schools, there needs to be inter-ministerial, inter-sectoral and social cooperation.
Particularly in schools, principals are required to have the skills to direct the development of school culture development plans.
The principal needs to make teachers and students understand the behavioral culture, school culture, vision and values of the school; Disseminate the need for change and future prospects for everyone to share. From there, encourage the spirit and create motivation for the staff and teachers to have consensus, understand their roles, positions, rights and responsibilities in making efforts to participate in building and developing a new culture for the school. The plan needs to be specific and detailed for each person, suitable for the conditions, time and other resources to be able to implement.
According to Mr. Thanh, to implement school culture, appropriate resources are also needed. Principals need to arrange reasonable funding and exploit other resources to serve the implementation of the school culture development plan.
