The 9th generation Suzuki Alto was introduced in the Japanese market in late 2021. After more than 3 years on the market, this low-cost car model has been slightly upgraded in the domestic market. In the new version, Suzuki Alto only has some exterior details that are different from the old version. The Alto's front grille has been updated with a newly shaped chrome trim, which hugs the black bezel surrounding the millimeter-wave radar. The new radar works with a single camera to activate Suzuki's improved Dual Sensor Brake Support II automatic emergency braking system.
In addition, the front and rear bumpers have also been redesigned with a more rounded style than before. In addition, a small spoiler has been added on the roof. Suzuki also introduced new exterior paint colors for this small car, including Terracotta Pink. The original white roof has been replaced with a light beige color, paired with either Chiffon Ivory or Foggy Blue Pearl body colors. Meanwhile, the black roof can be paired with Phoenix Red Pearl or Nocturne Blue Pearl. In total, customers can choose between eight solid colors and four two-tone color combinations. The interior of the new Alto retains the same 4-seat layout as before, but is upgraded with an optional 7-inch infotainment screen, supporting Suzuki Connect smart connectivity.
Standard safety features include low-speed brake assist (forward/reverse), lane departure warning, vehicle departure warning (front vehicle and traffic sign), and parking sensors. In the Japanese market, the Suzuki Alto 2025 has 4 versions, including A, L, Hybrid S and Hybrid X. The two versions A and L use the R06A gasoline engine with 3 cylinders, naturally aspirated, 658 cc capacity, for a maximum capacity of 46 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and maximum torque of 55 Nm at 4,000 rpm. The engine is combined with a CVT automatic transmission and front-wheel drive or 4-wheel drive. The remaining two versions are equipped with a mild hybrid powertrain with a WA04C electric motor, producing a maximum power of only 2.5 horsepower and a maximum torque of 40 Nm, and a small lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 3 Ah. This system is combined with the same gasoline engine as above but with a higher compression ratio and a change in cylinder size to achieve a capacity of 657 cc.
The mild hybrid version's gasoline engine produces a maximum power of 48 horsepower at 6,500 rpm and a maximum torque of 58 Nm at 5,000 rpm. The engine also comes with a CVT gearbox and front-wheel or 4-wheel drive. Suzuki says the front-wheel drive hybrid version of the Alto has segment-leading fuel economy of just 28.2 km/l (about 3.54 liters/100 km) according to WLTC standards, with an improved design. The 2025 Suzuki Alto in Japan is priced from 1,142,900 - 1,639,000 Yen (about 205 - 295 million VND), excluding optional equipment.
