To achieve the goal of eliminating 100% of temporary and dilapidated houses in the area, Yen Chau district has established a Steering Committee and 15 working groups, issued a plan to implement the Project "mobilizing human resources to support poor households with housing difficulties in the province in the period of 2021 - 2025". In localities, the Vietnam Fatherland Front Committees at all levels have chaired and coordinated with mass organizations to mobilize communities, units and individuals to support the "For the Poor" Fund to support poor households living in remote, isolated and extremely difficult areas, households of single elderly people, and single women to build Great Solidarity houses.

With the drastic participation of the entire political system and the support of the people, Yen Chau has completed the elimination of temporary and dilapidated houses one year ahead of schedule. Up to now, the whole district has completed the elimination of 100% of temporary houses according to the project, eliminating 26 more houses arising during the implementation process with a total cost of over 38.4 billion VND. Of which, the socialized source from agencies and units is over 13 billion VND, people contributed money and working days of over 25.3 billion VND. The houses handed over for use are worth from 40 to 70 million VND, ensuring quality according to the "3 hard" criteria (hard foundation, hard wall and hard roof frame).

Along with Yen Chau district, Song Ma is also one of 10 localities in Son La province to soon complete the task of eliminating temporary houses in the period of 2021-2025. After more than 3 years of implementing the Project "Mobilizing resources to support poor households with housing difficulties in the period of 2021 - 2025", the whole district has supported 1,191 poor households to build houses with a total cost of 28.2 billion VND. The newly built houses all have a minimum area of 24m2 or more, meeting all functional requirements. Housing support for poor households has significantly contributed to helping the locality reduce the housing shortage index according to the multidimensional poverty standard.

Ms. Hoang Thi Luong Tam - Permanent Vice President of the Son La Provincial Fatherland Front Committee said that up to now, the whole province has supported over 8,400 households to eliminate temporary houses with a total cost of over 340 billion VND. Implementing the Project "Mobilizing resources to support poor households with housing difficulties in the period 2021 - 2025", 10/12 districts and cities have completed the task of eliminating temporary houses for poor and near-poor households with housing difficulties.

Responding to the movement "Join hands to eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses nationwide", Party committees, authorities, and Fatherland Front Committees at all levels are focusing on synchronously implementing many solutions, focusing on implementing programs and projects to help poor households develop the economy; continuing to call on agencies, departments, branches, organizations, businesses, and philanthropists to actively support the "For the Poor" Fund. For households that are able to contribute in advance, the implementation will be implemented first, while for those who need a lot of contributions and support, the district continues to call for support from businesses, individuals, and people to join hands to eliminate temporary houses. Son La province aims to completely eliminate temporary and dilapidated houses for poor households, near-poor households, and people affected by natural disasters by the end of 2025, and support families of meritorious people facing housing difficulties.
