According to the assessment of professional agencies, production, business and import-export activities in the first 3 months of the year took place in the context of escalating conflicts between Russia and Ukraine and Israel and Hamas; the trend of trade protectionism continued to increase; high inflation, tight monetary policy, and increased interest rates in many countries; high prices of crude oil, coal, and raw materials compared to the same period; in particular, US President Donald Trump's consecutive signing of orders to impose import taxes on countries has affected the province's export activities. High export tax rates on clinker, glass and cement products face many difficulties in exporting.
Anticipating difficulties affecting the production and business situation of enterprises in the province, the Provincial People's Committee has directed sectors and levels to proactively monitor closely and grasp the development situation of sectors and fields, especially the production and business activities of key enterprises in the industrial sector; promptly remove difficulties and obstacles for sectors, localities and enterprises to promote production and business development.
Therefore, import and export activities in the province have grown quite well compared to the same period last year. Total export turnover in the first quarter is estimated at over 849.8 million USD, up 5.4% over the same period last year, exceeding the growth scenario by 17.9%.
In the first three months of this year, many of the province's key export items had a fairly high increase compared to the same period last year, such as: 2.4 thousand tons of canned pineapple and cucumber, up 46.1%; 855 tons of concentrated pineapple juice, 4.4 times higher; 348.1 thousand products of other sedge, up 33.8%; 70.5 thousand pieces of embroidery, 1.9 times higher; 4.3 million tons of cement, clinker, up 20.2%; 59.5 million products of cameras and components, up 26.6%; 45.7 thousand tons of urea, 3.2 times higher; 40.6 million USD of auto parts, up 42.3%;...
Total import turnover in the first quarter is estimated at 784.7 million USD, up 8% over the same period, exceeding the growth scenario by 1.12%. The value of imported goods groups with a large proportion are: Electronic components nearly 248.4 million USD; auto parts of all kinds 233 million USD; footwear and footwear production accessories 125.2 million USD; various garment fabrics 28.1 million USD; machinery and equipment 17.6 million USD; automobiles 15.4 million USD. In the general export picture of the whole province, it is necessary to mention the camera module and electronic components manufacturing factory of MCNEX VINA Company Limited in Phuc Son Industrial Park, Hoa Lu city.
In the first quarter, the company's production and business activities achieved a fairly high growth rate, with revenue reaching VND 5,046 billion, up 15% over the same period in 2024; output reaching 46.9 million camera modules and 10.2 million electronic components; export value reaching 199.8 million USD, up 16.5 million USD over the same period; import value reaching 183.2 million USD, up 24.8 million USD over the same period.
Mr. Lee Jun Ho, General Director of MCNEX VINA Co., Ltd. shared: In the context of many economic difficulties in the world, we believe that with the attention of Ninh Binh province and the determination of businesses, we will overcome all difficulties to complete the growth target registered with the province at the beginning of the year.
Another bright spot in the export picture of Ninh Binh province is the factory producing rolling doors, Austdoor plastic doors, Ninh Binh plywood, Silicone oil, gaskets, Silicone glue for the construction industry, automobile manufacturing and household appliances of Austdoor Ninh Binh Joint Stock Company (Khanh Phu Industrial Park, Yen Khanh district).
The Company's leaders said: Production and business results in the first quarter of 2025: Revenue reached 48 billion VND; estimated output reached 1,400 tons of oil and 32,800 bottles of Silicone glue tubes; estimated export value reached 1.84 million USD, estimated import value reached 0.6 million USD; budget contribution reached 700 million VND; jobs were created for about 70 workers; average salary was about 11.3 million VND/person/month.
This result was achieved because right from the beginning of the year, the company proactively sought orders; at the same time, it promoted investment in technology improvement, meeting market demand, thereby contributing to accelerating import and export activities. It is expected that the Company will complete and exceed the production and business plan for 2025 with an estimated revenue of 200 billion VND.
Assessing export activities in the province, Mr. Nguyen Thanh Binh, Deputy Director of the Department of Industry and Trade, commented: Import and export have maintained a relatively steady growth in turnover since the beginning of the year. This shows the great efforts of the business community in seizing opportunities from FTAs as well as recovery opportunities from the market. In addition, businesses have also invested very well in technology to produce products and goods. Thanks to that, local goods have been favored by many markets. Up to this point, many businesses have had orders until the second quarter of 2025.
To complete the export growth plan for 2025, the Provincial People's Committee directed the Department of Industry and Trade to preside over and coordinate with relevant sectors to continue to effectively implement the Export Development Plan of Ninh Binh province for the period 2021-2025 and the Import-Export Strategy to 2030 with the goal of consolidating, expanding and diversifying export markets associated with promoting the export of key products and advantageous products; strengthening import control, prioritizing the import of modern machinery and equipment and input materials for the production process associated with the planning and development plans of the industry and locality.
At the same time, the Provincial People's Committee also directed the Department of Industry and Trade to coordinate with relevant agencies to promote the implementation of e-commerce development programs and plans, trade promotion plans to create conditions for enterprises to innovate technology, expand markets, build brands and promote brands in domestic and foreign markets; promote exports, expand and diversify supply chains, production chains and import and export markets.
