Emotional National Flag from Truong Sa raised on the first day of Tet in the homeland of Lang Do

This flag was given to Mr. Nguyen Khac An - Correspondent of Nghe An Newspaper by the Island Chief of Sinh Ton Island, Truong Sa archipelago, during a working trip in early 2024. Mr. Nguyen Khac An presented the flag to Van Tien block.

This is the flag signed, stamped and presented by the Island Chief of Sinh Ton Island to a collaborator of Nghe An Newspaper during a working trip to Truong Sa in early 2024.

Hung Dung is one of the cradles of the revolution. There is a cluster of national historical relics here. Since the 1930s, Yen Dung Thuong village (now Hung Dung) has been honored with the title of Red Village. The Party Committee, government and people of Hung Dung have twice been awarded the title of Hero of the People's Armed Forces. Notably, Hung Dung is also the hometown of martyr Le Ba Giang, who heroically sacrificed himself in Truong Sa archipelago on March 14, 1988.

Van Tien block is the central block and the hamlet-level unit with the most outstanding emulation movement in Hung Dung ward for many consecutive years. The return of the flag from Truong Sa to the typical unit in the revolutionary homeland is a source of spiritual encouragement for the people here.

During the flag-raising ceremony, comrade Nguyen Phuc Dung - Vice Chairman of the Fatherland Front Committee of Hung Dung Ward and Secretary of the Party Cell of the block was moved to say: “The flag that we just raised and saluted today was brought back from Truong Sa. It contains many spiritual values, preserving the flag is also a reminder of the sacred sovereignty of the sea and islands of the Fatherland. From there, each person promotes their awareness and responsibility in each working position, contributing to building our homeland, our country to be more and more prosperous and civilized. From now on, every New Year, we will raise the flag from Truong Sa to organize the New Year's Flag-Salute Ceremony”.
