The document stated that due to the impact of storm No. 3 Yagi and the flood after the storm, at the location of the Tran bridgehead Km98+965, National Highway 70, half of the roadbed and surface had sunk. Therefore, Road Management Area I directed Company 244 to put up temporary prohibition signs to ensure traffic safety until the section was safely repaired.
Up to now, the subsidence position of the roadbed and road surface at the beginning of Tran bridge Km98+965, National Highway 70 has been fixed by Road Management Area I. After a period of monitoring the roadbed and road surface at this position has stabilized, the Department of Construction of Yen Bai province requested Company 244 to remove the restriction sign No. P.101 "prohibited road" and the sub-sign "Limit total vehicle weight" ≥10 Tons, trucks ≥ 3 Axles, passenger cars installed at both ends of Tran bridge Km98+965, National Highway 70. Completion time is before May 17, 2025.

Previously, on September 21, 2024, Road Management Area I sent an urgent dispatch to management and operation units on Highway 70 requesting the installation of restriction sign No. P.101 "prohibited road" and additional sign "Limit total vehicle weight" ≥10 Tons, trucks ≥ 3 Axles and passenger cars passing through the section Km97+800(P) and Km119+00(T).
At this time, due to the impact of storm No. 3 Yagi and the flood after the storm, Highway 70 has experienced landslides on positive and negative slopes at many points, causing damage to road infrastructure, including many landslides on negative and positive slopes covering half of the road surface, and landslides at the cone at the beginning of Tran bridge Km98+965.
Also on September 21, 2024, Road Management Area I issued urgent dispatch No. 1937/KQLDBI-QLTCGTDB to the Traffic Police Department of Yen Bai Provincial Police and the Traffic Police Department of Lao Cai Provincial Police requesting support for traffic flow and ensuring traffic safety in the section from Km97+800 - Km119+00/QL.70.
Speaking with reporters of the Vietnam Law Newspaper, Mr. Nguyen Trong Tien, Director of the Road Maintenance Board of Yen Bai province, said that previously, Road Management Area I was the unit assigned to manage National Highway 70. From May 1, 2025, National Highway 70 was assigned to the province (Department of Construction of Yen Bai province) for management, and information related to the repair of Tran bridge Km98+965 is being checked.

A representative of the Road Maintenance Board of Yen Bai province added that on the morning of May 15, the management and operation unit, Company 244, removed the prohibition signs and auxiliary signs at both ends of Tran bridge Km98+965, National Highway 70. By this morning (June 16), the management and operation unit had reinstalled them and after the Yen Bai Department of Construction issued a document, Company 244 will proceed with the removal and complete it before May 17, 2025.
National Highway 70 is 185 km long, running along the Chay River, from the intersection (with National Highway 2) of Doan Hung town, Phu Tho province to the intersection of Ban Phiet (with National Highway 4D), Lao Cai province. The section passing through Yen Bai province (Luc Yen and Yen Binh districts) is about 85 km long.
