Coming to Yen Son district in the early days of 2024, we had the opportunity to join the Dao people in white pants in village 2, Lang Quan commune to burn incense and worship at Dam May communal house and temple. According to the people, this is a particularly important relic of the Dao people and currently, the locality is promoting the cultural identity of ethnic groups to develop tourism with many unique and rich activities.
In the colorful Dao costume. Ms. Hoang Thich Chinh, a member of the Dao ethnic cultural preservation club in village 2, said, "The white pants Dao costume is very beautiful, so now most of the women in the village buy themselves a traditional costume to wear on every holiday, important event... Every time I wear traditional costumes, everyone compliments me, especially tourists from all over the world when they come to visit. I feel very proud and love my ethnic costume even more."
Mr. Ban Van Truc, Head of Village 2, Lang Quan Commune, said that Village 2 has 160 households, more than 80% of whom are Dao people wearing white pants. Over the years, the Dao people have always made efforts to preserve and promote the cultural identity of the ethnic group. In particular, when the people learned about the district's policy to build a Dao ethnic community cultural tourism village in the village. The people were very excited, so they were more aware of preserving the cultural values of the ethnic group.
Recently, Village 2 has established a Dao Ethnic Culture Preservation Club. The club has more than 20 members, aged 20-50, gathering people who love ethnic culture and want to preserve the cultural and spiritual assets of their ancestors. Currently, the club regularly practices Pao Dung singing, Cap Sac dancing, regularly performs at local events and when there are tourists, it will perform for visitors.
Mr. Ban Van Truc was enthusiastic, he had just returned from a training course on preserving and promoting ethnic cultural identity associated with developing tourism economy in the province. He found this a very useful training course that could be applied in his village. Therefore, in the coming time, he will actively mobilize people to preserve and promote their ethnic cultural identity through preserving and promoting the beauty of traditional costumes, houses, languages, songs, traditional festivals of the ethnic group, especially the Dam May communal house - temple festival... If the construction of the Dao ethnic community cultural tourism village in village 2 is successful, it will help significantly improve people's lives, contributing to raising income and cultural enjoyment for the people.
