Request to stop construction of golf club building in Cu Hill, Da Lat

On January 10, the leaders of Da Lat City ( Lam Dong ) confirmed that they had just requested Hoang Gia DL Joint Stock Company (investor) and the construction unit to stop the construction of the golf club building inside Cu Da Lat Hill.

The reason is that this construction project had many violations, so the city requested the construction unit to immediately dismantle the camps and ancillary works serving the construction of the golf club building.

Previously, in April 2023, the People's Committee of Da Lat City inspected, made a record and requested the investor to stop construction. However, this unit has continued construction since then.

Regarding this project, on August 11, 2021, Mr. Tran Van Hiep, Chairman of Lam Dong Provincial People's Committee (who was prosecuted and temporarily detained for accepting bribes related to the Saigon - Dai Ninh project), issued a document "Agreeing to supplement items, planning and architectural criteria for the golf club building of Hoang Gia DL Joint Stock Company".

Accordingly, the building has a construction area of ^{​​6,120m2} , located in the area of ​​golf hole number 8. In addition to the covered building, Lam Dong province also agreed to let the investor use ^3,900m2 as a parking lot.

However, according to an official of Lam Dong Department of Construction, the golf club building (block 1) has only been licensed to build the basement, the upper floors have not been licensed. The golf club building block is incorrect in both volume and area.

2 golf club building blocks have many violations

In addition, block 1 (dome design) has a construction permit but the illegal construction area is more than ^3,300m2 and the volume is also larger. Block 2, which does not have a construction permit, has a floor area of ^{​​4,478m2} . According to the reporter's observation, this block consists of 4 floors above ground and 1 basement. If standing from Lam Vien Square (next to Xuan Huong Lake), the block 2 building inside Cu Hill covers almost the entire 2 sacred Lang Biang peaks, the symbol of Da Lat City.

According to architect Nguyen Ho, member of the Executive Committee of the Ho Chi Minh City Association of Architects, the large building inside Cu Hill in Da Lat was built in violation of Planning 704 (currently in effect) approved by the Prime Minister in 2014, and also violated the principles of planning for the inner city of Da Lat inherited from 1923.

Mr. Nguyen Ho said that Lam Dong province not only had wrong direction in construction activities, architectural conservation, and landscape of the buffer zone of the national scenic Xuan Huong Lake, but also made mistakes in Planning 704 - the decision "Adjusting the general planning of Da Lat City and surrounding areas until 2030, with a vision to 2050" signed by the Prime Minister in May 2014.
