“Happy Family - Prosperous Nation” is the theme of the Action Month to Prevent and Combat Domestic Violence (DV) in 2025. The Action Month begins from June 1 to 30, with a series of activities honoring family work, thereby raising awareness among sectors, levels and the whole society about the position and role of Vietnamese families in the era of national development.
The key messages of this year's Action Month include: Happy families are the foundation of a happy nation; Investing in family work is investing in sustainable development; Family values are the foundation for building a national value system; Family is the place where the nation's cultural values are formed, nurtured, and passed on; Building the personality of Vietnamese people starts with moraleducation and family lifestyle; Happiness will shine in families without violence; Domestic violence is a violation of the law; Preventing and combating domestic violence is the responsibility of the whole society.
To achieve the goal of “Happy Family - Prosperous Nation”, every year, the Family Work Steering Committees at all levels are strengthened, assigned specific and clear tasks, ensuring synchronous and close coordination. Along with that, action plans and programs are built close to reality, in accordance with the functions and tasks of each unit, contributing to building a sustainable family foundation, as a basis for stable and prosperous development of the country.
Assigned by the province as the Standing Agency of the Steering Committee for Family Work, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism proactively coordinated with all levels, sectors and localities to organize a contest to learn about knowledge about ethics and lifestyle education in the family; behavioral culture in schools; organize a program to launch and implement the Family Behavior Criteria; provide training on family work; distribute leaflets and brochures on preventing domestic violence and building happy families.
Identifying the family as the home of each person, the cell of society; playing a very important role in the formation and development of human personality, the place to preserve, maintain and promote the precious traditional cultural values of the nation, therefore, right from residential areas, the Front Work Committee has actively promoted and mobilized people to participate in cultural, artistic, sports and club activities.
Currently, the province has more than 1,000 family clubs, mainly clubs for preventing and combating domestic violence, happy family clubs, and sustainable family development clubs; more than 1,500 trusted addresses in the community, nearly 1,000 groups for preventing domestic violence, 100% of communes, wards, and towns in the province have established hotlines to receive information about domestic violence, and 100% of commune, ward, and town health stations have temporary shelters for victims of domestic violence.
It is undeniable that in the period of industrialization and modernization of the country, the material and spiritual life of the people is constantly improving and enhancing. However, it is also inevitable that some negative phenomena in modern society are ringing the "bell" warning of the collapse of many families with substandard lifestyles, valuing money more than humanity. This is a big challenge in building families according to the standards of "prosperity, equality, progress, happiness" that the whole society is aiming for.

The daily struggles of life and social “collisions” have caused many families to break apart. The ego is so big that it overwhelms reason, causing them to lose their dignity by acting rudely, trampling on the dignity and bodies of their loved ones. The consequences of many incidents have led to broken families, people dying, and others going to jail.
In everyday life, in the family, anyone can become a perpetrator of violence, or a victim of violence. Violence occurs in many forms, mainly physical, mental, economic and sexual. The victims of violence are often dependent people, and occur in families with unequal lifestyles.
The reality is that most families with violence take it for granted. So when violence occurs, the victim is the one who actively conceals it. Victims only report to local authorities when their lives are truly threatened. So most victims of violence accept to “swallow the bitter pill”.
“Happy Family - Prosperous Nation” is not just a slogan but needs to be implemented by action. From educating ethics and lifestyle in the family, to building a standard value system for modern Vietnamese people. Each person, whether parents or children, must be responsible for keeping the flame of love in the family, thereby spreading happiness to the community.
Only when love is “warmed up” in every home can a family truly be a “home”. And only when every family is happy can a nation truly prosper.
