Recently, many Zalo users have reported that this messaging service no longer stores full message history when used on the web.
This is frustrating for users as they cannot find old messages, including important information.
According to Dan Tri reporter's investigation, since the end of April, Zalo has changed its policy and limited features on the web platform.

On the support page, Zalo said: "Currently, Zalo web only serves short-term usage needs, so Zalo web only displays messages from the time of first login and stores them for 14 days on the same browser. In case you switch to a new browser, some messages will not be fully updated for security reasons."
This means that messages on Zalo web will be automatically deleted after 14 days of logging in. Zalo encourages users to switch to the software on computers or smartphone applications.
However, Zalo software on the computer automatically downloads and stores media files, which can lead to a full hard drive, especially when receiving many large files such as videos and images.

Many users said they chose Zalo web to save hard drive space, and the storage limit is inconvenient. "Zalo software on the computer takes up a lot of space. My computer is weak, my hard drive has little free space, now that it is limited like this, I don't know what to do?", Facebook user T.Tien shared.
Some other users compared it to Facebook, saying that Zalo should not have such a limit. However, some said that the limit is not too serious because most users have switched to computer software and mobile applications.
Zalo is a popular messaging app in Vietnam, but recently it has continuously limited features for free users, causing frustration.
Last August, Zalo reduced its cloud storage capacity to 500MB. Since February, Zalo has charged users when registering a new account or requesting a password reset.
