Be careful with AI apps that create anime style photos

Since mid-August, social networks like Facebook, Instagram, etc. have been flooded with anime-style portraits and landscapes (Japanese-style animation) from the Loopsie app for iPhone.

Loopsie works like most apps today, users just need to upload photos, then the app recognizes and recreates them into paintings in different styles. This app has an Old School Anime filter, supports creating anime photos, causing a fever on social networks.

The Loopsie app also requests access to the user's photo library, phone camera, and some other permissions such as email information, internet access, etc.

The images will be uploaded to the service provider's server, so there is a risk of data leakage, and if the photo archive falls into the wrong hands, they can let AI learn, use deepfake to create fake photos and videos for different purposes, even fraud.

On August 23, Bkav announced that the security group's malware monitoring and warning system recorded that the number of computers infected with the Fabookie malware, which specializes in stealing Facebook Business accounts, is showing signs of increasing. In July alone, more than 100,000 computers in Vietnam were infected with this malware.

Fabookie malware is specifically designed to attack Facebook Business accounts. Hackers can use the victim's account to silently run ads instead of immediately changing the password and taking over the account.

Bkav recommends that internet users limit the use of the password saving function on the browser for important accounts; use anti-virus software and network security solutions to ensure the safety of personal computers as well as systems in agencies, organizations, and businesses...
