Heavy rain and whirlwind damaged 38 houses

Heavy rain and strong winds blew off the roofs of 38 houses and swept away many crops.

On the afternoon of June 26, Mr. Ngo Thanh Phong, Chairman of the People's Committee of An Thanh Commune, Dak Po District, Gia Lai Province, said that he had mobilized forces to help people repair houses damaged by natural disasters.

In addition, the commune also asked the District People's Committee to support funding for people to overcome the consequences.

According to Mr. Phong, on the evening of June 25, there was heavy rain and a tornado in the area, causing heavy damage.

Specifically, 38 houses had their roofs blown off. Of these, 36 were in village 4 and 2 in Kuk Dak village. The incident also damaged some of the people’s crops.

In addition, many electric poles were broken, disrupting power supply in some areas.

Estimated damage is about 1.1 billion VND.
