According to VNA, there are currently about 100 Vietnamese trainees studying at the international agricultural training center in Israel called Agrostudies.

The 15 people mentioned above are living near the town of Sderot - an area with many risks due to the conflict between the Islamic Movement Hamas and Israel.

With the support of the embassy and the Vietnamese community, the trainees were divided into small groups and moved to Malakhi city, about 40km from the Gaza Strip, to ensure safety in the coming days.

Vietnamese Ambassador to Israel Ly Duc Trung said that since the conflict broke out, citizen protection has been a top priority. The embassy has reviewed the situation of communities, trainees, pupils and students in all localities in Israel.

With the group of trainees near the Gaza Strip, the embassy asked Agrostudies to move them to a safer place.

In an interview with Tuoi Tre Online on the evening of October 11, Ambassador Ly Duc Trung said that the Vietnamese community in the country is basically safe. Vietnamese people even participate in providing food and accommodation for victims of the conflict in Israel when they seek refuge in the capital Tel Aviv.

The group of trainees in the hot spot of Sderot were well taken care of and safe by the receiving place and security forces in Israel. They themselves were calm and coordinated, complying with local regulations in emergency situations.

In addition to the Vietnamese community in Israel with about 500 overseas Vietnamese, there are currently about 180 Vietnamese students studying under the agricultural trainee program at Israeli centers.

There are four major international agricultural training centers that regularly cooperate to receive Vietnamese students: Agrostudies in the north, Sderod Negev in the south-central region, Ramat Negev and AICAT in the south.

However, this year the Sderot Negev Center (located right next to the Gaza Strip border) has no Vietnamese students studying there.

Advise Vietnamese in Israel to stay calm

Faced with the continuing tense and unpredictable developments of the conflict, and even the beginning of unstable security developments in northern Israel, the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel on October 11 issued a notice recommending that the Vietnamese community there remain calm.

The Embassy recommends that people strictly comply with the regulations and instructions of the local government and competent agencies on ensuring security and safety; and maintain regular contact with the Embassy, especially in case of emergency.

At the same time, those who really want to return to Vietnam or move to a third country need to proactively and quickly find commercial flights with the most suitable time.

Currently, Ben Gurion International Airport is still operating, and many major airlines still maintain flights to and from Israel, albeit with reduced frequency.

Vietnamese citizens in need of assistance can contact the Vietnamese Embassy in Israel at 972-50-818-6116 and +972-52-727-4248, +972-50-994-0889 or the Citizen Protection Hotline of the Consular Department, Ministry of Foreign Affairs at +84 981 84 84 84.
