How much money did 4 Vietnamese billionaires lose after Donald Trump's announcement?

(NLDO)- The assets of Vietnam's USD billionaires have "evaporated" hundreds of millions of USD in the context of a plummeting stock market and strong fluctuations in stocks.

Since President Donald Trump announced a 46% import tax on Vietnam, the VN-Index has been continuously on fire, losing more than 180 points, causing the assets of Vietnam's USD billionaires to "evaporate" hundreds of millions of USD.

Specifically, according to Forbes' update at 7:00 p.m. on April 8, the assets of Mr. Pham Nhat Vuong, Chairman of Vingroup Corporation (stock code: VIC), are currently at 7.2 billion USD, down 262 million USD compared to the previous session, ranking 417th on the list of the world's richest people.

Mr. Vuong currently directly holds more than 691 million VIC shares.

The decline in billionaire Pham Nhat Vuong's assets occurred in the context of strong fluctuations in VIC shares in recent times, down more than 7% compared to April 2 and down 5.4% compared to yesterday, currently closing at VND55,100/share.

The assets of Ms. Nguyen Thi Phuong Thao, Chairwoman of Vietjet Air (stock code: VJC), decreased by 100 million USD, to 2.4 billion USD when VJC shares decreased by 4% compared to the previous session and decreased by more than 13% compared to April 2, to 82,600 VND/share.

According to Forbes statistics, Ms. Thao is ranked 1,479th in the list of the richest people in the world .

Mr. Tran Dinh Long, Chairman of Hoa Phat Group (stock code: HPG), ranked 1,779th, his assets decreased by more than 148 million USD, to 1.9 billion USD.

Mr. Ho Hung Anh, Chairman of Techcombank (stock code: TCB), lost 133 million USD, remaining 1.6 billion USD, falling to 2,104th place on the list of the world's richest people.

Notably, since Mr. Donald Trump announced the reciprocal tax, two stocks, HPG and TCB, have hit the floor twice, down to VND22,900 and VND23,950 per share, respectively.

In total, Vietnam's four USD billionaires lost 643 million USD in asset value compared to the previous session, equivalent to more than 16,700 billion VND.

Previously, in the session on April 4, the total assets of the 4 USD billionaires decreased by about 743 million USD (more than 19,000 billion VND).
