500 people worked hard to build the project connecting the two provinces on April 30.

TPO - The leader of My Thuan Project Management Board said that the Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Project connecting Tien Giang and Ben Tre is in the final stage, more than 500 engineers and workers are working hard. With progress exceeding the plan, the project aims to close the main bridge on April 30, and complete the entire bridge on the occasion of National Day, September 2 this year.

The Rach Mieu 2 Bridge Project has a total investment of more than 6,810 billion VND, from the State budget, and is being urgently implemented. Site clearance work has been completed 100% along the entire route (17.6km), creating favorable conditions to speed up progress.

My Thuan Project Management Board said that up to now, 100% of the capital plan for 2024 has been disbursed, and more than 45% of the capital for 2025 has been disbursed. For the approach road, 80% of the roadbed has been completed, the crushed stone layer has been completed at 72%, and asphalt concrete has been spread on 22% of the road.

Regarding the bridge category, 4/6 bridges on the route have been completed, with the Song Ma bridge expected to be completed in June. For the main Rach Mieu 2 bridge, 104/112 cable-stayed bundles have been installed so far, and are expected to be closed on April 30.

In order to ensure the set progress, on March 14, My Thuan Project Management Board launched the emulation movement "45 days and nights to speed up progress", mobilizing 500 workers, 83 technical staff, organizing 3 shifts, 4 teams with 30 continuous construction teams.

The immediate goal is to close the main bridge on April 30, complete all bridges on the route on June 30, and bring the entire project to the finish line on September 2.

The early opening of Rach Mieu 2 Bridge will help reduce the load on the existing Rach Mieu Bridge, promoting socio-economic development in the Mekong Delta region. With a high determination, the construction units are making efforts to complete the project on schedule, meeting the expectations of the people of Tien Giang - Ben Tre province.
