The works of the UOB POY 2024 exhibition bring a unique art experience to the art-loving community in Hanoi , impressing with their creative art practices, the intersection between contemporary and heritage when conveying messages about the times while still preserving and honoring traditional Vietnamese values.
At the exhibition opening, the artists shared their views on the trend of practicing contemporary art that inherits the Vietnamese fine arts heritage over the past 100 years as well as the future path for Vietnamese artists on their journey to reach international stature, especially through regional playgrounds such as UOB POY.

UOB POY Competition 2025 officially opens for entries from today until August 1, open to all Vietnamese citizens and permanent residents (no entry fee). Each participating artist is allowed to submit a single work with recommended dimensions no larger than 180 cm on each side.

Prize worth 500 million VND
The jury of this year's competition includes famous artists and leading experts in painting such as: painter Dang Xuan Hoa, Chairman of the Painting Arts Council, Vietnam Fine Arts Association, Head of the jury; painter Le Thua Tien; painter Do Hoang Tuong...
At the press conference to launch the competition, artist Dang Xuan Hoa shared: "The competition over the past two years has created a boost for Vietnamese artists to step into the light, demonstrate their talents and be recognized at the national and regional levels. In addition to the awards, the opportunity to learn, cultivate and create conditions to develop talents in an international environment that the competition brings is very meaningful."
The winning paintings will be exhibited in an exhibition open to the public in Ho Chi Minh City in October. The top winner in Vietnam will receive a prize of VND500 million and a chance to compete for the prestigious UOB Painting of the Year Southeast Asia award (with a cash prize of S$13,000 as well as the opportunity to be selected to participate in a special artist residency programme).
The regional award ceremony will be held in Singapore this November. The winning work in Vietnam in the two categories of Prospective and Established will be exhibited at the National Gallery Singapore.
