Fire at petrol and oil business in Dat Mui

(PLVN) - The fire did not cause any human casualties but caused property damage to the facility of about 200 million VND and many other assets.

Initial information, at around 6:45 a.m. on May 29, the People's Committee of Dat Mui commune, Ngoc Hien district ( Ca Mau province) received a report from the people of Mui hamlet about a fire at Duy Nhut petrol and oil business owned by Mr. To Ba Phuc (born in 1975).

According to Ms. Ly Kim Thanh (Mr. Phuc's wife), at that time, Ms. Thanh discovered an electrical short circuit at gas pump No. 2, located between 2 oil pumps (the facility has 3 pumps). Ms. Thanh turned off the circuit breaker and used a wet cloth to put out the fire but failed.

The fire continued to spread through the oil pumps and then down to the gasoline and oil tanks. When she saw the big fire, Ms. Thanh ran outside to escape and shouted for help from the people around.

Upon receiving the news, Dat Mui Commune Police coordinated with the Commune Military Command, Mui Ca Mau National Park, and Dat Mui Border Guard Station to urgently deploy forces and firefighting equipment to quickly handle the situation. By around 7:25 a.m., the fire was completely extinguished.

The fire did not cause any human casualties but caused property damage of about 200 million VND and many other assets.

Authorities continue to verify and clarify the cause of the fire.
