980 outstanding delegates attended the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union

(CPV) - With the slogan "Vietnamese Youth: Patriotism - Aspiration - Solidarity - Pioneering - Creative - Confidently entering the new era", the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union has 980 outstanding delegates representing nearly 21 million members and Vietnamese youth.


On December 15, in Hanoi , the Vietnam Youth Union held a press conference to inform about the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union, term 2024 - 2029. Attending were Secretary of the Central Youth Union, Vice President of the Central Youth Union Nguyen Tuong Lam.

According to Permanent Vice President of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union Nguyen Kim Quy, the 9th National Congress of the Vietnam Youth Union for the 2024-2029 term will take place over two days, December 17 and 18, at the National Convention Center (Hanoi) with the participation of 980 official delegates who are officials, members, and outstanding young people in various fields at home and abroad. The solemn session of the congress will take place on the morning of December 18.

With the slogan "Vietnamese Youth: Patriotism - Aspiration - Solidarity - Pioneering - Creativity - Confidence in entering the new era", the Congress will summarize and evaluate the work of the Association and the youth movement in the 8th term; build goals, tasks, and solutions for the work of the Association and the youth movement in the 9th term (2024 - 2029); report on the amendment and supplementation of the Charter of the Vietnam Youth Union; consult and elect the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union and the Central Inspection Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union for the 9th term.

This congress has many new points, notably the program design. The congress will have a special presentation with the participation of many delegates representing many classes of youth such as young doctors, armed forces, young artists, young entrepreneurs, etc.

Within the framework of the Congress, delegates will visit the Vietnam Military History Museum; offer incense at the Bac Son Monument to Heroes and Martyrs; report their achievements and visit President Ho Chi Minh's Mausoleum.

Before the opening session, there will be an exhibition: "Vietnamese Youth - Confidently Entering the New Era". On the afternoon of December 17, delegates attending the Congress will be divided into 6 discussion groups with the following topics: "Vietnamese Youth Patriotism"; "Vietnamese Youth Preserve and Promote National Cultural Identity"; "Vietnamese Youth Study, Create, Start-Up"; "Vietnamese Youth Volunteer for the Community"; "Vietnamese Youth Unite, Integrate, and Develop"; "Building a Strong Vietnam Youth Union".

After the congress, on December 21, all levels of the Association nationwide simultaneously organized programs and activities to celebrate the success of the congress.

Among the 980 delegates attending the Congress, there are: 117 delegates who are members of the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, 8th term, accounting for 11.9%; consultative delegates from the Vietnam Youth Unions of provinces and cities; delegates introduced by Associations and Clubs under the Central Committee of the Vietnam Youth Union, collective member Associations, and armed forces units are 813, accounting for 83%; appointed delegates are 50 delegates, accounting for 5%.

In terms of ethnicity, the delegates attending the Congress have all 54 ethnic groups, of which 196 delegates are ethnic minorities, accounting for 20%. In terms of religion, there are 119 delegates belonging to various religions, accounting for 12.1%. In terms of gender, there are 609 male delegates, accounting for 62.14%, and 371 female delegates, accounting for 37.86%. In terms of professional qualifications, there is 01 delegate who is a Professor, accounting for 0.1%; 02 delegates who are Associate Professors, accounting for 0.2%; 26 delegates who are Doctors, accounting for 2.7%; 293 delegates who are Masters, accounting for 29.9%; 552 delegates with university degrees, accounting for 56.3%...
