Lionel Messi continues to make a difference. The Argentine superstar helped Inter Miami reach the round of 16 of the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup.

Inter Miami is the only American soccer representative to qualify for the knockout stage.

However, while Inter Miami celebrate this achievement, there could be important moves around Messi.

According to Saudi Arabia's Al-Midan Sports, Al Hilal Club president Fahd bin Nafel is in the US and is expected to meet with Jorge Messi, Leo's father and agent.

The purpose of the meeting: to discuss the possibility of Messi moving to Al Hilal this summer.

Al-Midan Sports sources confirmed that within Al Hilal, this meeting has been seriously discussed, and could be decisive for Messi's future.

The Saudi Pro League giants see Messi as a superstar signing to strengthen their global project, while competing on equal terms with European giants in both sports and media.

Although Messi is focused on the Club World Cup with Inter Miami, his future is uncertain, with his contract ending in December 2025.

Al Hilal – the team that will face Man City in the 2025 FIFA Club World Cup Round of 16 – and the Saudi Arabia Public Investment Fund (PIF) see this as an opportunity not to be missed, especially since Cristiano Ronaldo has just renewed his contract with Al Nassr for 2 years.

Recreating the classic battle between Messi and Ronaldo – 13 Ballon d'Ors and countless awards in total – would boost Saudi Arabia's image.

Messi wrote a new page in history since arriving at Inter Miami in the summer of 2023. He scored 50 goals, 24 assists in 60 games and completely changed American football.

Now, at the age of 38, Messi faces an important decision: continue with Inter Miami or move to the Saudi Pro League.
