According to Mr. Truong Huu Dong - Chairman of Dam Rong District People's Committee, the emulation movement "For the poor - No one is left behind" is implemented by the locality with specific emulation goals and criteria. Accordingly, Dam Rong district continues to implement the goal of multidimensional, inclusive and sustainable poverty reduction; limit re-poverty and the emergence of new poor households; support the poor to overcome the minimum living standard, access basic social services; implement the poverty reduction goal according to the national multidimensional poverty standard, improve the quality of life, ensure the harmony of economic development and social security, complete the socio-economic development goals of the locality in the period 2021 - 2025. Strive for the average annual poverty rate to decrease by 2 - 2.3%, the poverty rate of ethnic minorities to decrease by over 3%; by the end of 2025, the poverty rate of the whole district will decrease to below 6.5% and there will be no more particularly difficult communes. Reduce the rate of households falling back into poverty and near-poverty annually to less than 10% of the total number of poor and near-poor households in the year. Ensure capital sources for loans to 100% of poor households, near-poor households, and households that have escaped poverty who are eligible and have a need to borrow capital to develop production and business; strive for 100% of poor people of working age who want to learn a trade to be supported with vocational training, coaching and career orientation, and given priority in job referrals to stabilize their lives and increase their income...
According to the leaders of Dam Rong district, since implementing the emulation movement "For the poor - No one is left behind" in the period of 2021 - 2025, sectors and localities have focused on implementation. From here, many good models and creative ways of working and producing, helping each other develop the economy and reduce poverty have appeared. Typical models include: Cooperative Group for Mulberry Growing, Silkworm Raising, and Saving Pigs (Phi Lieng Commune); Pineapple Growing Model (of the Farmers' Association of Ro Men Commune); Cooperative Group for Mulberry Growing, Silkworm Raising, and Black Pig Raising, and Environmental Protection Residential Area (Da M'rong Commune); Green House Model, Women's Model "living a good life, living a good life" (Da K'nang Commune); Women's Group Model raising funds to support each other in growing mulberry and raising silkworms (Da Rsal Commune); Waste classification and scrap collection model raising funds to help members in difficulty (Ro Men Commune); Labor exchange group model, cooking nutritious porridge for the elderly and children (Lieng S'rong Commune); Brocade weaving model (Da Long Commune)... In addition to the models from the communes, the models: Farmers' Groups helping poor, near-poor households, escaping poverty; helping poor households eliminate temporary houses; Model "Saturday with the People participating in building new rural areas" of the district unions have also contributed a great deal of resources, not only helping poor and near-poor households develop the economy but also helping localities make more progress in socio-economic development.
In addition, policies on job creation and support for livelihood issues, housing, loans, health insurance, etc. were also promptly implemented by Dam Rong district, contributing significantly to supporting households to escape poverty sustainably, minimizing the risk of falling back into poverty.
Practices in recent years have shown that, with the joint efforts and participation of the whole society, poverty reduction work in Dam Rong district has achieved important results. According to statistics from the People's Committee of Dam Rong district, at the end of 2021, according to the poverty standards for the period 2022 - 2025, the total number of multidimensional poor households in the locality was 4,972 households, accounting for 34.49%, then by the end of 2024, the number of multidimensional poor and near-poor households in the whole district was 1,034 households, the multidimensional poverty rate was 7% (a decrease of 3,938 households, a decrease of 27.49% compared to 2021). In 2025, Dam Rong district is determined to reduce the multidimensional poverty rate by 1.5 - 2%, of which the poverty rate will decrease by 0.5 - 1%, the near-poor rate will decrease by 1 - 1.5%.
Currently, 100% of poor households, near-poor households, and households that have just escaped poverty have access to loans to develop production and business; 100% of poor and near-poor people of working age who want to learn a trade are provided with vocational training, coaching, and career orientation; 100% of people from poor and near-poor households living in particularly difficult communes and villages are granted health insurance cards; policies for poor and near-poor households are always given attention and implemented promptly; the rate of malnourished children under 5 years old (stunted) has decreased to below 23.33%.
The leaders of Dam Rong district commented that the emulation movement "For the poor - No one is left behind" has truly become a great driving force, contributing positively to the completion of the goals and targets for socio-economic development, national defense and security of the district.
Dam Rong District has identified that ensuring social security and sustainable poverty reduction is always one of the key tasks. Not only poverty reduction but also sustainable poverty reduction, limiting poverty relapse and poverty generation.
