According to RT , ISRO's successful launch of a human spacecraft will create an important premise allowing India to carry out the Gaganyaan program to send people into space by 2025.
The launch took place at 10am local time on October 21 with the aim of assessing the spacecraft's ability to abort its mission in case of an unexpected incident, as well as returning the astronauts to Earth.

The Gaganyaan programme is India's first manned space mission. ISRO expects 20 critical tests for the Gaganyaan mission before launching a manned spacecraft.
India's manned space program has a budget of $1.1 billion and is scheduled to launch in 2025.
The Gaganyaan mission is scheduled to send a three-member crew into orbit 400km around the Earth for a three-day mission. The spacecraft will then land back on Earth in the Indian Ocean.
For the Gaganyaan mission, ISRO will continue to use the Launch Vehicle Mark-3 rocket that was used for the Moon mission - Chandrayaan-3.
If successful, the project will make India the fourth country in the world to carry out a manned space mission after the US, Russia and China.
After the success of recent space projects like the Chandrayan-3 lunar exploration mission and the Aditya L1 solar exploration, Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi has asked the country's scientists to aim for new and ambitious goals like building India's own space station in space by 2035 and sending the first Indian to the Moon by 2040.
Besides ISRO's space programs, India also plans a joint mission with Japan to send another probe to the Moon by 2025. New Delhi also aims to have a Venus orbital mission within the next two years.
Experts believe India can keep the cost of space exploration low by following the lead and adapting existing technology. It has a highly skilled engineering workforce, but wages are lower than those of its foreign competitors.
