NDO - More than a week after opening traffic directions through two new overpasses, traffic conflicts at the Mai Dich - Ring Road 3 intersection ( Hanoi ) have significantly decreased.
Since May 6, the two Mai Dich overpass units have officially opened to traffic and have a new traffic diversion plan.
The two new overpass units are located right next to the old Mai Dich intersection overpass. Each side is nearly 8m wide, including 1 motorbike lane and 1 motor vehicle lane.
After being put into use, the traffic organization through Mai Dich intersection will change. The old Mai Dich overpass will be separated into a highway axis exclusively for cars, connecting to the elevated Ring Road 3, with a maximum permitted speed of 60km/h.
Meanwhile, two new bridge units are for vehicles connecting from the highway to the urban roads at both ends.
Actual records show that, more than a week after opening traffic directions through the two new overpasses, traffic conflicts at the Mai Dich - Ring Road 3 intersection have significantly decreased.
During the morning rush hour on May 14, traffic conflicts at this intersection were basically reduced.
After exiting Mai Dich overpass, vehicles will have 2 directions to go to Ring Road 3 towards Thang Long Bridge - Noi Bai Airport or turn right to Hoang Quoc Viet, Co Nhue.
Notably, after more than a week of operation, the problem of motorbikes "straying" onto the old bridge has been completely resolved. The lane reserved for cars is very clear in both directions.
The traffic intersection that was often congested became clear after more than a week of Mai Dich overpass being opened to traffic.
