On the evening of June 2, the People's Committee of Da Nang City held the opening ceremony of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival - DIFF 2023, with the competition of two teams, host Vietnam and Finland. The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival - DIFF 2023 is sponsored by Sun Group and co-organized the opening ceremony with the participation of a series of famous singers and artists.

Attending the opening night of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival - DIFF 2023 were former President Nguyen Xuan Phuc, along with Party Central Committee members: Nguyen Duc Hai, Vice Chairman of the National Assembly; Tran Luu Quang, Deputy Prime Minister; Nguyen Van Quang, Secretary of the Da Nang City Party Committee, leaders of ministries, central agencies and many provinces and cities across the country.

Speaking at the opening ceremony, Comrade Le Trung Chinh, Deputy Secretary and Chairman of the People's Committee of Da Nang City emphasized that after 3 years of suspension due to the epidemic, today people and tourists have the opportunity to meet again in the city on the Han River to enjoy the special performances of the International Fireworks Festival .

The success of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival for more than 10 years, from 2008 to 2019, has affirmed the appeal of a series of exciting and vibrant activities for tourists and residents. This is the pride of Da Nang and also a challenge for the city to constantly strive to surpass, continue to improve the quality of organization and performance to build the brand of the Da Nang International Fireworks Festival to be more and more worthy of everyone's expectations.

Hopefully, the 2023 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival with the common theme "A World Without Distance" will be a bridge to help remove all barriers so that everyone can enjoy together the artistic values, cultural beauty, and together strive for the aspiration of peace and prosperity.

The Da Nang International Fireworks Festival has 8 competing teams from: the United Kingdom, Poland, Canada, France, Finland, Australia, Italy and the host Da Nang-Vietnam. Each team will perform fireworks according to a different theme each night, such as: "Peace for humanity", "Love without borders", "Conquering dreams", "Dance of nature".

The 2023 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival is a gathering of representatives from countries with long-standing traditions in the art of fireworks performance, together telling stories with light combined with music.

Immediately after the opening ceremony was the performance of the host team Vietnam, with a story of peace and friendship through the theme "Da Nang - the sound of peace". With the experience accumulated through 11 times participating in DIFF, the Da Nang team brought the audience an attractive opening performance, with more than 4,500 fireworks of all kinds, 128 different color effects. The beginning of the performance was a delicate combination of music and fireworks, with a gentle rhythm, evoking emotions and awakening the excitement of the audience.

Moving into the second part, the team changed direction and introduced vibrant music and vivid fireworks effects, demonstrating the resilience and determination of Da Nang people in overcoming the challenges caused by the pandemic.

The highlight of the show was the third part, with the intensity of the fireworks reaching its peak, blooming, creating the image of hundreds of clusters of fireworks connecting like intertwined arms, representing the tightening of friendship between peoples around the world.

The Finnish team expressed their strong emotions and love for life in the theme “Starting the Heart”. The story is about a special journey - the journey back to the “new normal” life when the Covid-19 pandemic struck. With diverse fireworks techniques, each fireworks beat was perfectly choreographed with layered rays of light, in harmony with strong rock sounds, taking the audience through the “ups and downs” of emotions like the past 3 difficult years, and then bursting into joy when the pandemic passed, the world was close together again as if there had never been isolation.

The 2023 Da Nang International Fireworks Festival will be held every Friday night, starting from June 2 to July 8. The following night, June 10, will feature a performance between the Canadian and French teams with the theme “Love Without Borders”.
