In this challenge, Anh Vien swam 1.14 km non-stop in 30 minutes and 41 seconds, pulling a 5 m long, 1.8 m wide canoe with a capacity of up to 8 people. On the boat, Do Kim Phuc performed artistic juggling continuously throughout the journey without letting the ball fall. This is a coordination that requires physical strength, flexibility and extremely high technical mastery.
This impressive achievement was recognized by the Vietnam Record Association as a national record, marking the first time Vietnam has had the longest combined sports and art performance on the sea ever.
The event demonstrated the creativity and perseverance of the two athletes, and was also a highlight in the Quang Ninh tourism promotion campaign in 2025. The record-setting event was supervised and certified by representatives from prestigious record organizations and local management agencies, contributing to honoring the value of the pioneering performance.
"Through their groundbreaking performance, Anh Vien and Kim Phuc not only affirmed the 'Dare to think - Dare to do' spirit of Vietnamese youth, but also conveyed a strong message about creativity and the effort to conquer passion.
This is also a unique, interesting and impressive communication activity to promote the majestic beauty of Ha Long Bay to domestic and foreign audiences," said Mr. Pham Dinh Huynh, Deputy Head of Ha Long Bay Management Board, evaluating the combined performance that created a Vietnamese record by Anh Vien and Kim Phuc.
