Three major universities in Vietnam join hands to train and research technology

Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology signed a cooperation agreement on training, research, and strategic science and technology development associated with business cooperation.

On April 3, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Hanoi National University and Hanoi University of Science and Technology signed a cooperation agreement to implement Resolution 57-NQ/TW of the Politburo on breakthroughs in science and technology development, innovation and national digital transformation.

The goal is to strengthen cooperation between three universities: Hanoi National University, Ho Chi Minh City National University, Hanoi University of Science and Technology to promote the potential and strengths of each institution in training talents, scientific research, technology transfer, innovation, digital transformation for the development of each side, contributing to the development of education, training and science and technology of the country.

The parties will coordinate to develop high-quality programs, especially postgraduate training in key and cutting-edge fields, in the direction of jointly organizing training, and at the same time research and propose mechanisms so that graduates of this program can receive degrees from all three universities.

The parties also committed to prioritizing the research of core technologies and developing strategic technology products: artificial intelligence, semiconductor chips, cybersecurity, blockchain, IoT, 5G/6G, energy, robotics and automation, digital technology, new materials, biotechnology, quantum technology... At the same time, develop a shared digital ecosystem, interconnected between the three universities; build a system of endogenous digital document databases, digital libraries to serve teaching and research.

Speaking at the signing ceremony, Deputy Minister of Education and Training Hoang Minh Son affirmed that Resolution 57 of the Politburo is of great significance to the system of higher education institutions in Vietnam.

In recent years, Vietnamese universities have not only been scientific and technological organizations, but also places to train human resources for science and technology, and innovate for national digital transformation. Universities are also places to apply science and technology, especially digital technology and artificial intelligence in school management innovation, teaching and learning innovation.

Therefore, according to Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son, universities play a central role in the national innovation ecosystem.

"The cooperation between the three universities is a typical model for the connection between the State - schools - businesses. The three parties work together not only to create breakthroughs in science and technology, but also to develop high-quality human resources to meet the requirements of the digital age," Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son emphasized.

Mr. Son also said that the 3 universities were chosen not only because of their scale, but also because they have a strong research foundation, have successful research, have organized research centers, science and technology parks, and strategic research complexes.

By signing a cooperation agreement to implement Resolution 57, the three leading universities will share resources, cooperate together in training, implement common training programs, common tasks, attract talents, lecturers, scientists at home and abroad...

"This is a core model to recruit other higher education institutions to cooperate and develop, successfully implementing the tasks set out in Resolution 57-NQ/TW," Deputy Minister Hoang Minh Son emphasized.
