Ba Ria - Vung Tau: Students only need to go to school, no need to pay

On July 17, Mr. Mai Ngoc Thuan, Vice Chairman of the People's Council of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province, said that the 22nd session of the Provincial People's Council, term VII, 2021 - 2026, passed many resolutions in various fields, including a resolution to exempt and reduce all tuition fees for children in nurseries, kindergartens, public and non-public high school students, and students studying in continuing education programs in the province.

Accordingly, 3- and 4-year-old nursery and kindergarten children studying at public and non-public preschools; high school students studying at public and non-public high schools; and students studying the Continuing Education program studying at general education and Continuing Education institutions established and licensed to operate in accordance with the law in Ba Ria - Vung Tau province will not have to pay tuition fees.

The support level is equal to 100% of the public tuition fee according to the regulations of the People's Council of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province for each level of education. The support period depends on the actual number of months of study at educational institutions but not more than 9 months/school year, starting from the 2024 - 2025 school year.

The state budget directly supports tuition fees for public educational institutions and continuing education centers. The state budget directly supports parents or guardians of 3- and 4-year-old kindergarten children and non-public high school students to implement the support policy.

Previously, in the 2022-2023 school year, the People's Council of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province issued a resolution to exempt 100% of tuition fees for 5-year-old preschool children and secondary school students.
