Ba Ria-Vung Tau affirms to be a growth pole in the general development of the Southeast region.

Ba Ria-Vung Tau is a province receiving the attention of many large investors in the world .

Ba Ria - Vung Tau province has a particularly important strategic position, being the gateway to the East Sea of ​​the Southeast region and the whole country, with favorable natural conditions, gentle and hospitable people, and a quality workforce. After 33 years since its establishment, with the close and timely attention and direction of the Central Government, Ba Ria - Vung Tau has continuously strived to promote its role, enhance the position of the province, affirming itself as a growth pole in the overall development of the Southeast region.

Currently, with economic scale (GRDP), contribution to the central budget, provincial competitiveness index (PCI) is always in the TOP 5 leading provinces and cities in the country. The economic structure of Ba Ria-Vung Tau is shifting towards industrialization, modernization and urbanization. GRDP per capita is the highest in the country.

In recent times, Ba Ria-Vung Tau province has promoted reforms in the investment and business environment, becoming a potential destination on the investment attraction map of the whole country. Currently, the province has attracted foreign direct investment (FDI) with a total capital of more than 33 billion USD and domestic investment capital of 400,000 billion VND. Of which, in the first quarter of 2024 alone, FDI capital was attracted of more than 1.50 billion USD and domestic investment capital of more than 25,000 billion VND. These investment projects come from 30 countries, territories, and leading corporations and financial institutions in Vietnam with advanced, modern technology, less labor-intensive, high productivity, and environmentally friendly.

In recent years, the province has made a breakthrough to create a difference in the development strategy of Ba Ria - Vung Tau, forming 02 new industries, which are the chemical industry and the renewable energy equipment manufacturing industry - wind power.

Along with socio-economic development, Ba Ria-Vung Tau also prioritizes allocating resources to invest in human development and improving people's happiness index. Up to now, the province has no poor or near-poor households according to national standards; social order and safety, national defense and security are ensured.

Along with that, the Central Government's investment in synchronous infrastructure projects with the largest scale ever and being urgently built, aims to turn the Southeast Region and Ba Ria - Vung Tau into a place where all conditions converge to turn potential into new opportunities in the fields of industry, seaports - logistics, tourism - urban areas, and high-quality services.

In particular, the promulgation of Resolution No. 24-NQ/TW dated October 7, 2022 on “Socio-economic development and ensuring national defense and security in the Southeast region to 2030, with a vision to 2045” has repositioned the role and particularly important strategic position of the Southeast region in general and Ba Ria - Vung Tau province in particular. The Resolution clearly demonstrates the viewpoint of liberating and reallocating national resources through mechanisms and policies to make the Southeast region a dynamically developing region with high economic growth rates and the largest growth drivers in the country.

In speeches at important events of the province recently held, leaders of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province said: The viewpoints and visions of Resolution 24-NQ/TW are considered by the province as the basis and foundation for shaping the planning of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province, period 2021-2030 and vision to 2050. The province has taken advantage of the opportunity to implement the planning, to create a model of allocating development space, removing bottlenecks, renewing old growth drivers and creating new development drivers, combining the implementation of 3 strategic breakthroughs: breakthrough in multi-modal transport infrastructure system, breakthrough in digital transformation associated with administrative reform and breakthrough in improving public administration capacity.

Seaports and logistics are identified as a new economic development pillar of Ba Ria - Vung Tau.

The planning of Ba Ria - Vung Tau province approved by the Government this time clearly defines the goal that by 2030, the province will become a centrally-run city with an average GRDP per capita of 18,000 to 18,500 USD; Developing Ba Ria - Vung Tau province into: a marine economic center; a maritime service center of the country and Southeast Asia; a high-quality international tourism center; and one of the largest industrial centers of the Southeast region.

By 2050: achieve the goal of net zero emissions as committed by the Vietnamese Government at the COP26 International Conference on Climate Change.

The leaders of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province affirmed that they will accompany businesses, creating the best conditions for businesses to learn, invest and develop in the province. Thereby, maximizing internal strength, effectively exploiting external strength, bringing Ba Ria-Vung Tau to develop day by day./.
