On the morning of April 13, the Management Board of Industrial Parks of Ba Ria-Vung Tau province announced that there was one death related to a work accident at Zinc Oxide Corporation Vietnam Limited Liability Company, Phu My 3 Industrial Park, Phu My city on the morning of April 12.
The deceased was Mr. TVD, a worker of the company, who died of suspected suffocation from a gas leak. In addition, 41 people were affected, all of whom were employees and workers of the Company.
Immediately after the incident, the Company coordinated to take employees and workers to Ba Ria Hospital for examination and testing. As of 5:00 p.m. on April 12, 40 people had been discharged from the hospital and were being monitored at home; one case was still being monitored at Ba Ria Hospital due to close contact with the gas and was currently conscious.
Some employees and workers of the emergency company at Ba Ria Hospital said that while working, they felt tired, had difficulty breathing, had headaches, and sweated. The company suspected gas poisoning due to a chemical reaction, so they took the workers to Ba Ria Hospital for emergency treatment at noon on April 12.
At Ba Ria Hospital, the patient was examined, monitored, had an electrocardiogram, blood tests, and intravenous fluids taken by medical staff, then discharged and asked to continue monitoring at home.
The police are currently working with the company to investigate the cause of the above work accident./.
