Bac Giang: Organizing Badminton and Pickleball tournaments to celebrate the Party and Spring 2025

Towards the 95th anniversary of the founding of the Communist Party of Vietnam on February 3 (1930 - 2025) and welcoming the New Year of the Snake 2025, on the morning of January 18, at the Bac Giang Provincial Sports Stadium, the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism organized the opening ceremony of the Badminton and Pickleball tournament to celebrate the Party and Spring 2025.

Attending the opening ceremony were Mr. Mai Son - Permanent Vice Chairman of the Provincial People's Committee; leaders of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism and representatives of some departments, branches of the province, districts, towns, cities and many fans.

In his opening speech, Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism Truong Quang Hai said that this is the first provincial sports tournament in 2025 to encourage the movement of physical training and sports, improve health. At the same time, it strengthens the spirit of solidarity and friendship between levels, sectors, agencies, units and localities in the province; demonstrates determination and dedication, thereby creating more motivation and inspiration to continue completing tasks in the new year 2025.

This year's tournament attracted 116 athletes who are leaders and managers from 35 provincial agencies, departments, branches, unions, enterprises, districts, towns, cities, and armed forces.

Athletes compete in men's doubles badminton at Bac Giang Provincial Gymnasium.

With the spirit of “Healthy to build and protect the Fatherland”, athletes competed in 12 men's and mixed doubles events divided into age groups: 55 - 60, 50 - 54 and under 50. The tournament took place in the morning with nearly 100 matches in 2 events.   Athletes compete in a round robin to score points.  

At the end of the tournament, the Organizing Committee awarded 15 sets of prizes in each category to athletes with high achievements. Of which, badminton had 5 sets of prizes, pickleball had 10 sets of prizes. Each set of prizes included: 1 first prize, 1 second prize and 2 third prizes./.
