Before becoming Head of Hy Vong Cancer Treatment Center at FV Hospital, Dr. Basma M'Barek spent more than 18 years working in France, where she accessed and applied the most advanced cancer treatment technologies and methods. Her passion and dedication in the field of cancer treatment has motivated her to continuously learn and update new knowledge, bringing effective treatment directions with the least side effects to patients.

In 2018, the Hy Vong Cancer Treatment Center was upgraded with the most modern equipment, aiming to provide accurate treatment, reduce side effects and increase the chance of survival for patients. This was also the time when Dr. Basma M'Barek was chosen to lead the Center, carrying the aspiration to improve the chance of survival for cancer patients.

Every day, she begins her work by visiting each inpatient, listening to their concerns and directly answering their questions.

There were times when she would return to the patient’s room late at night to check on her patients’ health. She cared and did every little detail to minimize the pain and fatigue of her patients, accompanying them and encouraging them to believe in the treatment process.

Dr. Basma M'Barek always closely follows each case and accompanies the patient.

A patient emotionally recalled that at around 9 pm that night, while she was half asleep, she opened her eyes and was surprised to see Dr. Basma by her bedside. This was the third time that day she had seen the head of the department. "The doctor hasn't come back yet?" The woman smiled angelically and bent down to hold her hand: "Today, when I gave you the medicine, I saw that you were a bit tired. I went home but I was worried so I came back to the hospital. How are you feeling now?" The 59-year-old female patient recounted her memories with Dr. Basma, her eyes glistening with tears: "The care of the head of the department really gave me great motivation to overcome this arduous battle."

Not only focusing on the treatment regimen, Dr. Basma also closely monitors the side effects for patients. She always finds the right treatment method for each specific patient, helping them overcome difficult times with the most optimistic spirit.

Up to now, FV Hospital's Hy Vong Cancer Treatment Center has invested in and gradually applied the most advanced techniques in radiotherapy, including: Total Body Irradiation - TBI, Stereotactic Body Radiation Therapy - SBRT, Stereotactic Radiosurgery - SRS, Intensity-Modulated Radiation Therapy - IMRT... "The modern equipment and advanced techniques at FV are now approaching the progress of leading medical fields in Europe or the US," affirmed Dr. Basma.
