According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today (May 21st), the Northeast region of Vietnam will continue to experience hot and intensely hot weather with maximum temperatures of 35-38 degrees Celsius, and even exceeding 38 degrees Celsius in some areas; the lowest relative humidity will be 40-60%.
The Northwest region and the area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen are experiencing intense heat, with some areas experiencing exceptionally severe heat, with maximum temperatures of 37-40 degrees Celsius, and some places exceeding 40 degrees Celsius; the lowest relative humidity is 30-55%.
Specifically, tomorrow (May 22nd), the Northeast region will experience even stronger heat with temperatures ranging from 36-39 degrees Celsius, and exceeding 39 degrees Celsius in some areas. The Northwest region, from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen, will maintain maximum temperatures above 40 degrees Celsius. The heat will mainly be concentrated between 10 AM and 6 PM.
Forecasts indicate that the heatwave in these areas is likely to last until around May 23rd.
It's worth noting that the temperature forecast in heatwave reports and the actual temperature felt outdoors can differ by 2-4 degrees, or even more, depending on the surface conditions such as concrete or asphalt.
Additionally, while sunny weather with temperatures reaching 35 degrees Celsius continues in the Central Highlands and Southern Vietnam, temperatures are expected to gradually cool down with thunderstorms in the late afternoon and evening.

Lowest temperature: 27-29 degrees Celsius, with some areas exceeding 29 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature: 37-40 degrees Celsius, with some areas exceeding 40 degrees Celsius.
Da Nang to Binh Thuan
Cloudy skies, hot and intensely hot days, exceptionally hot in some areas, with scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening; in the South, sunny days, hot in some areas, with scattered showers and thunderstorms in the evening and at night. Southwesterly winds of force 2-3. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind.
Lowest temperature: 26-29 degrees Celsius. Highest temperature: North 35-38 degrees Celsius, some places above 39 degrees Celsius; South 32-35 degrees Celsius, some places above 35 degrees Celsius.
Central Highlands
Cloudy with sunny periods; scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. Southwesterly winds at force 2-3. There is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms.
Lowest temperature: 21-24 degrees. Highest temperature: 30-33 degrees, with some areas exceeding 34 degrees.
Southern Vietnam
Cloudy with sunny periods; scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. Southwesterly winds at force 2-3. There is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail, and strong gusts of wind during thunderstorms.
