The North and Central regions are still scorching hot, exceeding 40 degrees Celsius.

According to the National Center for Hydro-Meteorological Forecasting, today (May 21), the Northeast region continues to experience hot and extremely hot weather with the highest temperature of 35-38 degrees Celsius, some places over 38 degrees Celsius; the lowest relative humidity is 40-60%.

The Northwest and the area from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen have intense heat, some places are especially intense with the highest temperature of 37-40 degrees, some places over 40 degrees; the lowest relative humidity is 30-55%.

In particular, until tomorrow (May 22), the heat in the Northeast will continue to be stronger with temperatures ranging from 36-39 degrees, with some places reaching over 39 degrees. The Northwest region, from Thanh Hoa to Phu Yen, will maintain the highest temperature above 40 degrees. The heat will mainly be concentrated between 10am and 6pm.

The heat wave in these areas is expected to last until around May 23.

It is worth noting that the predicted temperature in the heat bulletins and the actual outdoor temperature can differ by 2-4 degrees, or even higher depending on the surface conditions such as concrete and asphalt.

In addition, the Central Highlands and the South continue to have sunshine up to 35 degrees, but the trend gradually cools down with thunderstorms in the evening.

Thanh Hoa - Thua Thien Hue

Cloudy, hot and sunny during the day, especially hot in some places; showers and thunderstorms in the evening. Southwest wind level 2-3. Thunderstorms may cause tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

Lowest temperature: 27-29 degrees, some places above 29 degrees. Highest temperature: 37-40 degrees, some places above 40 degrees.

Da Nang to Binh Thuan

Cloudy, hot and very hot during the day, especially very hot in some places, scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening; in the South, sunny during the day, hot in some places, scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening and at night. Southwest wind level 2-3. During thunderstorms, there is a possibility of tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

Lowest temperature: 26-29 degrees. Highest temperature: North 35-38, some places over 39 degrees; South 32-35 degrees, some places over 35 degrees.

Central Highlands

Cloudy, sunny during the day; scattered showers and thunderstorms in the afternoon and evening. Southwest wind level 2-3. Thunderstorms are likely to produce tornadoes, lightning, hail and strong gusts of wind.

Lowest temperature: 21-24 degrees. Highest temperature: 30-33 degrees, some places above 34 degrees.

Southern Vietnam

Lowest temperature: 26-29 degrees. Highest temperature: 32-35 degrees, some places above 35 degrees.

Hanoi

Cloudy, hot during the day, some places very hot, showers and thunderstorms in the evening. Light wind.

Lowest temperature: 27-29 degrees. Highest temperature: 35-38 degrees, some places above 38 degrees.
