The video was filmed by Hanson at the QE2 floating hotel in Dubai, United Arab Emirates (UAE) last October.
According to this expert, "basically, small items in hotel rooms" such as toothbrush and shaving kits, mini shampoo and shower gel sets or slippers, are things that travelers can take home.
At the QE2 hotel, Hanson even pointed out that the slippers in his room were labeled: "Use me and take me home."
In an online interview with Mail Online Travel, Mr Hanson said: "Postcards with beautiful pictures of the hotel, paper with the hotel address printed on them are also things that tourists can take home. It is considered one of the low-cost advertising methods of accommodation establishments."

However, things like cups, plates, mugs, glasses, pillows, robes, etc. should be left in the room when you leave. "If you really like the porcelain in the living room, you can go down to the souvenir area at the reception desk to ask to buy them," the expert emphasized.
Sheets and pillows are also items you should never remove. Mr. Hanson shared that there have been many cases where guests have tried to stuff a hotel pillow or two into their suitcases to take home.
On a personal level, the British expert said he often chooses to take free bath salts home, especially if he had a good experience bathing at the hotel he just stayed at.
Reusing those bath salts at home reminded Hanson of the relaxing moments he experienced at the hotel.
